Most shmups, especially Cave shmups, have a setting somewhere in the options tree that allows you to rotate the screen.

I need a dedicated Shmup stick. I’m trying to decide between buying an LS-40 or LS-58 (modded w/ a 56 spring). Does anyone have any feedback or opinions on these two sticks?
Asking what joystick to use is like asking what soda to drink. It all boils down to personal preference and there is no right or wrong answer. This is like asking us what soda to drink Coca-cola or Cherry Vanilla Coca-cola?
The consensus has been overwhelmingly by old school shmup fans the LS-32, followed by the LS-56. A LS-58 is just a LS-56 with a different spring and cosmetic changes.
I don’t use a LS-40 so I can tell you. The Gate “issue” rarely applies to the LS-32 for shmups and its more of a fighting game issue.
