I had heard about the Otomedius stick, but isn’t it dedicated for that game only with the touchscreen?
Not a big Otomedius fan, so I never explored it.
Touchpads are pretty decent for shmups. I would prefer real buttons for the non-movement inputs, and a large touchpad that is separate from the screen (think an iPad-sized touchpad, with the game on a separate monitor). Playing on an iPhone is more fun than I thought it would be; games like Mega Man are pretty terrible, but I can do shmups.

On topic: Ikaruga was my jam in the Gamecube days.
My friend left me his GCN copy of Ikaruga before he moved back to the US.
Why didn’t I ask that? Good shmups for the PSP, I need to know.
Star Dust Portable and Galaga are the only 2 I know of.

I could never beat this as a kid. So hard.
Yeah, but that’s mostly to the large hitbox and stage design.
I for one think the throw on the JLF is just too huge for shmups.
I really like the LS32 for them and just all-round, the namco stick can be nice too.
Besides that I’m not that good at shmups and I’m a bit too lazy to learn the games most of the time. Since I lack any console I play anything good and emulated and touhou. Gotta admit touhou did get me back into the genre with its pretty colours and everything.

Picked up Jamestown the other day when it was on Steam’s Daily Deal ($5). Love it! Great bullet hell moments. Got my mouth watering, and earlier today led to my retry of the Touhou series. “Retry” because i couldn’t get any of them running on my desktop. Just tried out Perfect Cherry Blossom. IT WORKS! Started on Normal, then jumped to Lunatic and it’s just what i was looking for!
Now i need to wait for a point when the kid is out of the house to hook up my TE to this little 'puter… he LOVES sticks and the clicking is like catnip to him. No way to use one w/out him running up to me and bawling if i don’t let him play heh. So excited to dive into these things!
Oh, and Jamestown needs more online coop. Stat.
Jamestown is pretty hot. I burned through the levels a little too quickly, but it’s a great score grab game. The system is pretty straight-forward for point boosting.
I got pretty annoyed when I found out that 3rd gen 8GB iPod Touch’s were a lie and were actually 2nd gen and thus, I couldn’t play Espgaluda. I got even more annoyed when I updated my iPod Touch to iOS 4 and now only have 6.8GB of usable space. So I’m stuck with ISUD and even more limited space on my iPod Touch. I guess portable screen bullet hells and I are not meant to be. (Ketsui Death Label and the horizontal screen on the Nintendo DS just doesn’t work)

I am almost surprised it is on Steam now, but Sony is proving not to be as anal as Microsoft for allowing indie games to be on other networks.
It is almost a crime how Microsoft restrict Indie developers/studios after they published on XBLA.
MS has the tendency to block other peoples indie games from also being on other consoles/ networks that the game is already on XBLA.
Yes I know Gundemonium Collection isn’t a Sony property but Distributors can tend to be stingy.
Anyone know what to do with a NES that just displays a fuzzy screen? My younger brother wants to buy one for some stupid reason. I’d fix it if it was easy, but I doubt it considering it is being sold as a broken unit as opposed to the owner just fixing it.

There isn’t alot of shumps I am aware of on the PSP, I do know about Star Dust Portable, and ports of Space Invaders, Gradius and a few others
