Is it bad that I’m more nervous about whether or not my recipient likes theirs rather than what I’m getting?
Not bad if everyone feels the same way! :^)
When I give gifts, my MO is to come at it from an angle I alone could provide (i.e. deals or ideas I’m aware of that someone else may not be), and then use the related assets to arrange something tailored to the recipient.
After a bit of pondering, I realized it’s inevitable that the giver will be reflected in the gift. Trying to conform perfectly to the recipient’s tendencies (and minimizing your own) usually doesn’t end well. My experience is that making a gift look overly tailored to the recipient can have it come off as ingenuine or uncanny.
Can’t speak for everyone, but I also appreciate the image of the giver in a gift. I want something that another can uniquely provide; I think that’s an important way of confirming one’s identity and construes a basic mode of communication as well.
I hope everyone got their gifts shipped today. Today was the deadline after all.
According to UPS, mine got there already, so now it’s just waiting for the results.
I really hope they like it. It’s hard to shop for someone who already has all the coolest stuff.

Got the time to post pics of the gifts I received. Wanted to wait to post until I at least had my SS gifts shipped out (which it will be arriving tomorrow).
Yay wrapped presents from Jasen! The wrapping was done well. Did you wrap them yourself?
I received a snowman lego set, lego minifigure display case, SFxT mini figures (Ken and Steve), beer googles to put on beer bottles, Dominion expansion set, and a 2 month subscription to a beer club.
Anyone who is into board/card games should def try out Dominion. While at SCR2015, JDM brought his base set to the tournament. JDM, Jasen, Vicko, and I played that game all weekend long. So good was the game that we drove out and both Jasen and Vicko both bought a copy of the game.
I am wondering if the beer club was supposed to be a surprise. I stumbled upon an email from them when I randomly was looking through my spam folder. Either way, I’m excited to receive the beer from the club.
I can display my mini figures nicely now. Instead of all huddled away in a shelf.

I won’t type it all out, but as I read this holiday letter, my heart broke. Gummo, our dear, sweet Gummo, went through with this year’s SS even when things were so hard on him. Inside, there was to be some printed TE2 artwork that was made the wrong size to be used, a Sriracha-to-go bottle, and a 3D printed Keychain utilizing a Madcatz yellow button, a small USB hub, and little LCD TV screen. I swore on everything that I would frame the art as he recommended, and not cut it up or burn it, which he also recommended.[/details]

This absolute beast is loaded with a RaspberryPi/RetroPi (absolutely ingenious integration of my love for raspberry by the way), HDMI port, and can function as a portable RetroPi console. The LCD screen mounts onto the clips and plugs into the phono port located in the back of the case. Any 5v USB power source (such as the hub included in the box) will operate the full function of the stick, so I can have a RetroPi anywhere I go.

Ah when I first checked the tracking number it said it would arrive on Friday. I never checked up on it, but glad it came earlier.
I still have the letter and the instructions files on my laptop. I can post them if you don’t feel like typing them and want them to be shown.
I would suggest getting a screen protection for that lcd screen. It still has the thin plastic sheet that was originally on it, but I wouldn’t trust it.
By all means, please post away. It was incredible.
Also, you took the number 1 spot in my favorite stick list, and I own a pretty good number of sticks.
