Had a great time at King’s Gambit! I did not expect to get so many casuals in while there, but I had to have gotten in at least 5 hours of casuals.
Really sad I can’t make Poverty Fights this Saturday as GameClucks is going on the same day, but I’ll see if we can carpool down next week. Way more motivated to practice after Evo.
Ok so here’s a small synopsis of yesterdays events. The turnout was pretty much a casual night for TOS and a low standard as far as tournaments is concerned. So effective immediately I’ll have to drop Poverty Fights. I wouldn’t like to drop it but it seems that the anime fighters already have something in house and well Seattle KOF probably doesn’t wanna drive down south to play us. So instead I might possibly do Kings Gambit twice a month as opposed to once a month. If anyone has constructive criticism please feel free to share.
Despite the turnout. I had MASSIVE amounts of** FUN!** Online Escapades: Heading Hunting Holidays sounds like an awesome thing to continue every so often. I even dusted off my old ass El Fuerte to get some games in and Iegitimately had an excellent experience. I’ll be uploading highlights to Youtube soon but here’s the one I had to put up first!

Thanks for coming out dudes. I’ll look forward to serious business next week.
As much as I’d like a good venue down here, the sad fact is, it will be better for everyone if it’s someplace in Pierce County. Their scene is about as strong as ours, but I doubt they’re going to come south to play us, and we’ve already proven we can go north to them.
I like playing with the Tacoma/Lakewood guys, and want to continue.
Its still on hiatus since The Otherside Gaming Center has closed its doors. I’m working alot with Sandor Collins, owner of Gamebreakerz, in Auburn lately. I am in the middle of my quest for a new venue.
Gamebreakerz is looking like the best option. Dorky’s while close could prove problematic and expensive as a stream broadcaster if I have to provide my own internet I also have to look at the space. I was having a hard time getting the players bring equipment to a LAN center with consoles I can see how hard it will be if I ask them to bring setups to an arcade in downtown Tacoma.
Anyone got any good ideas for a new venue post them up or PM me.
I will definitely go scout out Dorky’s. Honestly Gamebreakerz deserves to be the place to host tournaments now. After investing all this hard time and effort into learning as much as I can about everything from display latency, modding sticks, streaming and running tournaments I have come to the realization that we need a place that will support us as competitors. That is what Shandor does for us. He is willing to listen, willing to learn from us, and willing to teach us. That kind of synonymous relationship is not something that should be taken lightly.
It is quite funny how after 3 years of planning and saving, Seattlefootclan, Deniz and I decide to do the same thing one after the other. Its just bad timing and a lack of communication. I just do what I do. I don’t hide anything from anyone and I’m telling you right now that the PNW needs to step it up. Not only in the level of play but MOST IMPORTANTLY to break down these divisions that we have made for ourselves and just communicate better as a entire community.
Learning to properly coordinate ideas, running brackets and open communication with everyone and not just this “oh I hang with these guys” or “I’m not from _______ . I’m reppin ______.” Also willingness to contribute something whether it be setups, commentary time, help breaking down equipment all that shit. That’s what I feel needs to happen. As much as I love Tech Hit! I need to re-evaluate what is best for the scene as a whole. Until that day comes Tech Hit! is on hold.
