This has got me interested now, because re-fly is an innate aspect of un-fly. If they’ve purposely added in un-fly (but removed re-fly), I want to know what aspects are actually there and how it’s activated (or if it even needs activating)… Perhaps they added some features of un-fly but not the un-fly glitch it’s self, such as attacking or blocking after un-flyng…

Fast-fly is a technique that allows you to extend combos etc. By activating flight and moving to cancel flight animation, you can use it to continue air combos and such… Un-fly is a glitch that allows you to do stuff after you exit flight. In MvC2 when you exit flight, you’re not allowed to do anything whether that be attack or block, leaving you widely open. With un-fly activated, you can continue to apply pressure after using flight, or exit flight while moving around in the air so you can block incoming attacks… Re-fly is part of un-fly and allows you to activate and exit flight multiple times in the air for a limited amount. By using fast-fly to take advantage of re-fly, you can create longer combos and stay in the air for much longer while keeping the ability to block… This is why Sentinel is so strong; his massive reach combined with all this allows him to dominate the air for long periods of time and still remain relatively safe.
-fly (normals XX fly XX normals/specials/super) combos exist, we’ve seen it.
-refly (being able to cancel deactivaion of fly/fly timeout into fly) doesn’t exist according to some sources.
-unfly (having access to normals/specials/supers/block/airdash/assist after fly is deactivated)…i don’t see how this is possible considering unfly was a glitch in mvc2
fast fly was primarily only used with Sentinel b/c of slow but cancellable initiation after flight activation. characters like IM and WM didn’t need fast fly b/c their flights were faster. characters like Storm and Mag weren’t able to take advantage of flight combos like Sent, IM, WM b/c their flights were REALLY slow. their fly combos were more for show than practicality. refly combos were when you were in flight, did normals, cancelled those normals into deactivation of flight, cancelled the deactivation back into flight, and still had time to do more normals before your opponent recovered from hitstun.

sentinel might not be top 4 in this game, but IMO he needs to retain certain key elements to maintain viability:
-reach. being able to hurt the opponent from the other side of the screen is what made sent and storm so deadly in conjunction with their rushdown abilities. bring back the long kicks, and the frying pan
-priority. not alot of air to airs beat sent in MvC2, making the robot rule the sky. frying pan had a great hitbox.
-stamina. give sent above average stamina. maybe not top in the game again but hes gotta be able to take a hit, hes the robot for crying out loud.
i feel if sentinel keeps those things then the loss of unfly might not be a big of a nerf as people think (or hope =p)
There is unfly in the sense that you can be flying, then do qcb+E to stop flying, and you can block or do moves on your way down. You don’t need to activate a glitch or anything, you can do that during any fly state.
You cannot however fly again after you stop flying, you can only do moves or block.
yer forgetting the other big thing; he’s almost certainly gonna lose his universal super-armor. Probably get it for some moves, but not all the time.

It’s been stated a few times by various people in testing, proof is hard, but its fallen into the realm of ‘common knowledge’ that you can unfly.

Sentinel could have something else up his sleeve that makes up for unfly. Its not like that alone made him what he was.
