Team Weapon X - Options for Teams That Include ol' Canuckle Head

It’s just showing off some of the combo synergy options there for the team of Wolverine/Dorm/Iron Fist

I agree that Dragon Fang is a great assist, but i wouldn’t call it the "100% best assist in the game for Wolverine."and I would agree with Bolts of Ballsack if like everyone couldn’t duck under it.
Wolverine and Iron Fist go great together though.Real easy 50/50s on incoming characters and berserker slash assist for Iron Fist can help a lot.
Also if Iron fist screws up with a super, a DHC into Berserker Charge is awesome.

who goes well with wolverine and spencer? I don’t know if I should play spencer as anchor or second

Well Combofiend moved Spencer to the 2nd spot because he works as well in XF2 as he does in XF3. If you keep him there I’d recommed anyone with a solid assist for 3rd. So Doom, Mags, Sent etc. It can only make your team stronger adding someone with good assists who also makes a reasonable anchor (Sent) or a great anchor like Doom and Mags. I’m pretty sure Sent allows Spencer to do some really nice things in his combos too, but so do Doom’s missiles.

Then again I play Iron Fist last, so I don’t even listen to my own advice.

Its an ok assist. my Issue. Iron fist to me seems like a point character, So is wolverine. It seems to me that Skrulls stone smite works just as well. But Im gonna say this. Sent drones and or Akuma Tatsumaki (far as main assist). Sent drones pins you down so much Wolverine gets a chance to bounce around like a mad man until something hits. Wolverine + Akuma= Extended combo. Honestly I think There are better Main assist for wolverine then Iron fist. I think iron fist makes a better point. but thats just My opinion.

Arthur’s daggers works really well with Logan.

Ya this is why you put ironfist on point and dhc to fatal claw for 1 million damage / character death, followed by iron fiat regenning life and your opponent facing one of the most annoying incoming chqrqcter mixup in the game to kill the second character

Doctor Doom and Logan is really getting awesome for me, plus with the combo extending with plasma beam. Also, helps Logan to get in which is great for me lol. Logan/Wesker/Doom great team xD

How about teams with wolverine second and akuma third? XF2 wolverine is too nice, plus you can always dhc into fatal claw for major damage or berserker charge to make things safe. Finding the best point character can be tricky though since they need to really shine with tatsu. I’m liking taskmaster at the moment, but magneto is an awesome choice as well. If wolverine had his otg slide as an assist I’d say spencer :confused:

So I’m thinking of changing my Chun/Storm/Akuma team to Wolvie/Storm/Akuma. I know Jwong ran this team early in Vanilla but he’s changed his teams so many times and I haven’t seen him use that one for a long time. And with the increased emphasis on keepaway I’m unsure if this team is optimal. I mainly have an issue with dealing with lame keepaway. Do you think that this team will be sufficient for dealing with that?

As evidenced by winter brawl I’d say yes this team should be able to deal with keepaway :smiley:

This team got nerfed in ultimate because of the loss of DHC glitch, but it’s still solid.

Currently playing Wolverine/Wesker/Akuma. Can’t say that I like Wesker very much though; he’s obviously good, but doesn’t really seem to fit my play. I’m thinking of playing Zero/Wolverine/Akuma just to abuse Zero, but I can’t quite see any synergy in that team, other than just both characters being able to abuse Akuma assist.

Thoughts? Would this team work without synergy just because the 2 point characters are so strong?

Is there a specific timing or spacing with Wolvie to OTG off the slide into Dorm dark hole? I keep missing it but it’s very close each time.

You just have to get a feel for it, but generally you call Dormammu and press df+:m: just when Dormammu begins his animation where he closes his hands together. So he comes in, pauses for a brief moment, and then he begins his squeeze animation, it’s then that you want to OTG, like in the video I posted earlier on this same page.

2 points and an assist is an alright team configuration. Does zero’s rainbow super dhc into fatal claw well? The benefit with this team is you have 2 characters that can really demolish teams if they get going, and if you fuck up you can safely dhc into each other. However neither really bring much in terms of assists, although Zero’s get better in sougenmu. Plus lvl 2 x-factor with wolverine + tatsu assist is great, and if they both die you have a competent anchor. Seems fine in theory although definitely not the strongest team.

I might try that team out myself as I’m in character crisis mode right now.

In general I think the Wolverine/Akuma shell is still quite strong, but just not as dominant as the last game. There’s a lot of new team shells that are equally dangerous or better.

Im also thinking about using Task/Wolverine/Akuma. I have never really played Wolverine in the past, can people give me some tips on Wolverine/Akuma synergy? Like I dont know when to use the assist while Wolverine is out.

Wolverine’s assist allows Dorm to pretty much always extend a combo in the corner, which in this video is demontrated as there is extreme HSD. The vid itself shows this team doing 1,375,200 while only spending 1 bar:

What exactly does Wolverine need when it comes to assists? I’m trying to decide between three teams and I can’t choose because I don’t know which two assists he would synergize with the most, and still be able to hold themselves after he’s dead. The three teams are: Wolv/Wesker/Akuma, Wolv/Doom(missiles or plasma)/Ammy, Wolv/Wesker/Doom(plasma).

He generally either needs something like a beam to move forward, lockdown to apply mixups, something like Akuma’s tatsu or Iron Fist’s Rising Fang to allow him to combo from B. Slashes, and an assist which allows combo extension at the end of combos to add more damage, build more meter and give him ToD combos. You just have to play about with different ones and work out what works best for you.
