i don’t think i’d recommend going alone without knowing much japanese. i took japanese in highschool but it can still be pretty confusing here – i am learning a lot though and getting better. luckily, i’m staying with some japanese friends so having them around makes it easy and i’m getting to do a lot of stuff i wouldn’t otherwise be able to do.
when i find a good arcade, i’ll definitely take pictures. so far i’ve been to an arcade at fujikyu (the theme park) and a couple at a huge mall in chiba. fujikyu arcade had a few old fighting games (darkstalkers, kof2000, sfa2) but it was pretty meh and nobody else was in there. the arcades at the mall didn’t have any fighting games (though both had mario kart arcade games, which i got a kick out of). btw, the videogame stores in japan are kickass.

If i don’t have work that day (havent gotten a schedule yet) then im up for it. as far as GG/ goes, its a coin toss. Even if dallas makes a decent showing in it there is still hitler, robot, marn, kensou, etc. to take our money anyway. But if there is a big enough turnout for it i’ll play regardless just because.

yeah, you went to showdown, yeah you went to one regionals and that one snf. however, there have been plenty of opportunities since then to prove yourself the competitive gamer you are. i havent seen you leave your house for casuals in the last 6 months seemingly, and yeah, im busy too (i work 65 hours a week) but i still have time to make it even when not having a car 
at least go to H-town and prove me wrong.
