Ponder or Ink, could you guys specify on the Cali 4 teams, NY 3 teams question from before?
Cali(not “WC”) has 3 team leaders, if you include WA as “WC” then it’s 4 teams; While NY(not “EC”) has 1. “EC” team “B” is PA. NY should at least have 2 team leaders(the talent in NY deserves it.) PA and FL added would be 4 teams for the “EC”. If FL(So. Atl.) isn’t part of the “EC”, and Seattle(No. West) isn’t “WC” then it would be 3 teams each.
Someone said cause there are more “West Coast” players. I think there are just as many in NY, it’s just that Cali players are spread out more.

Ok wtf is Arizona? I know we’re scrubby, but we’ve gone to all evo’s with a buttload of people and have placed top 32 in MvC2. We fall into “PacSouth”, but I guess there is NO FREAKING PAC SOUTH since all that pac south refers to is CALI AND WASHINGTON. LAst time I looked at a map, and at the Apex divisions, there are other states on (or close to) the Coast, including Oregon, Hawaii, and Arizona. We have a lot of players here and at least three players (enough for a team) that get recognition from a lot of top players, and I think that for us to not even have a chance to be in a division is pretty retarded. I mean… we have ruin offering one AZ player a spot for the SOUTHWEST team which he is captain of, while he is obviously a PacSouth player, according to Apex. I dunno… I think that there should be a PacSouth team, and I think that there was a lot of favoritism put into the choices. Ricky for the captain of Norcal’s MvC2 team? WTf… That guy has gotten beasted in every tourney he’s entered since evo. Alex “The Chunksta” has beaten him in every tourney they’ve played in in the last who knows how many tourneys, and he is recognized as being a total BEAST by everyone from that area. Instead of having people that know nothing about the area decide, the people of THAT area should have decided who represents them, says me. I guess I’m just PO’d that we got gypped.
I’m not saying that AZ should have it’s own team, but I’m saying that AZ should have at least a chance to get into one of the divisions. Cali has three or four teams, for a good reason, but AZ TECHNICALLY doesn’t even have one, while we do have enough players to merit at least a chance to get into one. I don’t know if my point is seen through all of the BS I’m spewing, but I hope that it is… it’s probably too late for anything to be changed if one of the admins cared, but this just made me really angry.

this team tournament is kind of wierd because it does do alot of discriminating. Im not saying this because I have anything against the tournament. I mean I am the cap of team A for Cali which is dope. but if I was in an unlucky area such as AZ or Hawaii Id be upset too. And I do disagree with Ricky being team cap for Nor Cal. that just isnt logical. but hey thangs cant always be perfect I guess. last years 5 on 5 idea was way better IMO. this team tournament is kind of lacking in hype and anticipation. thats how I feel going into it anyway.
Musker, AZ isn’t being discriminated against. AZ, TX, and LA are all part of the SW region as far as the team tournament goes. ruin- is gonna give people from all 3 states a chance to make the team in the fairest way possible: some kind of playoff.

Cali has about 80 mvc2 players signed up for evo, while NY has about 20, roughly.
Go look at Rickys Apex results for mvc2. Not saying that he’s won every tourney since then, just saying he hasn’t gotten beasted in every tourney since evo.
As Carnevil said, its not just AZ, its TX too. If you are basing it on the fact that AZ has players that are “respected by top players”, then it would probably follow that ruin gets MORE respect from those same top players, so shouldnt he be offered a spot? What it really seems like is that although Vegas falls in whatever region, it isn’t REALLY close enough to Cali to be placed with the same. So AZ is getting its chance for spots in whatever way ruin is deciding.
And Soo, I personally think when the team tourney gets to the big screen, its gonna be pretty hyped too.

1 team for North Cali
1 team for AZ, NM, TX, HI, etc.
1 team for WA, OR, etc.
2 teams for NY, NJ, PA, RI
2 teams for South Cali + NV.
I don’t think this is unfair given that 30-40% of the tournament attendance comes from the LA/SD area.
Ok so Hawaii is in the southwest as well? Wow this just gets better. I think there should be a team pacsouth, so that NV, HI, and AZ can all represent. Let TX and LA have a southwest, instead of throwing all of the “lame” states together in some weird combo to save space.
