Ok, I’ve been talkin to Ricky about team Marvel and he said he’s just going to use the results of Choi’s Pre-Evo tourney to decide who gets the LAST spot on the team.
He decided that Randy Lew should get the 2nd spot simply because he has the most experience outside of himself in norcal Marvel. People can argue that Chunk is better or whatever but cmon… Randy placed 5th at Evo last year and made it to top 8 undefeated. He’s also placed at multiple MAJOR tournies throughout this past year, so him getting the spot without contest is almost a given.
Ricky was really about to just give the last spot to Mikey, but we talked about it and decided to give others a chance to qualify through Choi’s tourney to be a bit more fair. Mikey would’ve been a solid choice already though…
So for everyone who wants to make the last spot in norcal Marvel just come out to the Pre-Evo tourney and prove to everyone that you should be on the team.
Here’s how it’s gonna be… The one player who places best that’s NOT ricky or randy will get the spot. Both Ricky and Randy will still be allowed to enter the tourney though. If either of them peaces out one of the favorites then too bad… We discussed whether or not Ricky/Randy should be allowed in the tourney and we decided that it would be best if they were because there’s no point in having a handicapped tourney to decide who ought to make the team.
Is this a little more fair than having Ricky pick all 3 people? Yes…
Can some random guy who normally beasts on miniature golf get super lucky and get the last spot? Yes…
Just play yer best and try to qualify… Don’t worry about the random shit, but it can happen so watch out.
