I’m just curious, why do people believe Steve is better as an anchor? I play him on point but that is because I’m focused on learning Steve at the moment and + I’m trying to find my second character.
because steve has no way to open people up aside from frame traps, and he cant really capitalize of those frame traps unless he has meter, so hes better off as anchor so when you tag him in you get a juggle to the corner, and hopefully 2-3 bars
Same here, lol… but I enjoy having Abel on point. I have no desire to switch Steve from anchor.
I’m also using Kaz/Steve
Using Guile as my battery and Steve as my anchor.
Running Yoshimitsu/Steve. Despite both of them lacking in various ways, they do cover up some of their weaknesses. Yoshimitsu’s a somewhat low damage character with amazing tag cancel potential and Steve’s a pretty high damage character who benefits from being tagged in.
I am running Steve/King and swapping them on point, I like the idea of a very counter based team even though it doesn’t seem to have great synergy (correct me if I’m wrong… please )
Until Dudley gets unlocked.(…bullshit!!) & arrives this fall… I have put Steve in the anchor spot and ran Sagat/Steve.
When playing as Sagat it feels good to have the anti-air everybody fears. He can zone and build meter for Steve when he’s tagged in. I have to learn how to juggle my opponent when Steve is tagged in. All I’ve been doing…thanks to my ass execution & even ass-ier internet… is cr. x2 xx Hellfire/Super/Cross Rush.
Also Ken/Steve, seems to really…really have some good synergry.
Right now I’m maining Rolento/Steve.
Rolento/Steve I picked mainly because Rolento has some ridiculously good corner combos. He’s damn good with building meter and the best part…he’s insanely fun to play as.
Once that DLC comes out…That team is gonna be pushed to my secondary team, and I’m gonna give a warm welcome to Bryan Fury.
I use this team also, I use steve on point, the team is really fun, but i’m pretty ass at the game so I can’t really comment on to the synergy (they seem to work well together to me). You can tag cancel steve’s ducking MP into king and use the 3x knee into cr HPxx jaguar bomb setup pretty easily (EDIT after more testing, tag into knees only works in corner or near corner, but King still has other setups that work midscreen), and King magic series into launcher into steve cr HP ducking MP then f +HP LP flicker jab (can even be tag canceled here for more damage) is pretty damaging.
Holy love you Blaze haha I’m gonna love mp tag into knee juggle ;D
i’m surprised nobody else is running balrog steve
well sorta surprised
balrog isn’t that fun to play LOL
but people like themed teams!
most people are probably just holding out for dudley/steve XD
I know I am.
I want to play Balrog but is it just me or are charge times really messed up on SFxT? I cant really seem to get charge moves out and Balrog feels really “rigid” on this, its hard to describe. Dudley/Steve will be awesome.
Dudley/Steve is going to be the classiest team in the history of Brittania. Can’t wait! ;D
I’m running Rolento/Steve (I actually mained Rolento in Alpha, so I’m pretty familiar with how he works outside of the token bandwagoner). Stacked Rolento with two meter building gems and a defense gem, and Steve with a power gem that activates when Rolento launches.
Only had the game for about 2 days, so I don’t have much synergy yet, but in the corner, after a PC combo, can tag in Steve to start a cl.HP xx Ducking combo string with a nice damage boost. And with Rolento’s wall carry and little need to use meter, Steve’s pretty powerful with the enemy in the corner, and loaded with 2-3 bars (I almost always have 3 bars by the time Steve comes in).
I might have to steal your idea of a tag in gem for king tag in knee all day long
Problem i found with Abel/Steve, they both need meter IMO
im rocking ryu/steve right now. Since i’m putting in so much time learning steve i picked ryu because hes easy to play and is a solid character. usually i just do enough damage with ryu to get a meter then i tag in steve.
Gotta be Rufus and Steve. Rufus needs no meter to be effective and really builds it, so when you bring in Steve, he has alot of juice to play with. I would like to stick Steve upfront, but I just dont feel he’s anywhere near as effective meterless. If I could master his ducking body>hook f.c xx cr.fierce etc etc then he would and should be my frontrunner. Until then though, Rufus will be the main man.
im going gief and steve…gief can hit confirm easily and steve can finish them easy…
