Maybe it shouldn’t be, but the fact that Sanford is on the EC team is hella funny to me. No real explainable reason, except maybe all I can think of is him in that one vid where it looked like he was in the war zone. One person reading this knows what I’m talking about
So challenges are thursday in vegas right? I will be challenging for a spot, who I will be challenging has changed since there’s a change in the lineup. I’ll let you know thursday.
Where are the challenges gonna go down? I’d love to watch what the NW players and meet up with everyone before EVO
To be honest, Vertical ball is your best defense. Hop to Vertical ball is your best offense. Be sure not to use coward crouch too much, and just neutral jump sonic booms. Aside from that, he will have a MUCH more difficult time winning. Seth is like a stick of butter, Blanka is a hot butter knife.
Yeah seth’s boom doesn’t have very good recovery so you could even jump forward over it since Blanka has gross range jumpins like j.hk. Slide under the booms, too.
The cross-up hop->Ultra will rip Seth apart. They will more than likely try to wake-up tele/Shoryu/SPD, so it will actually do quite a bit confirmed or not because of the chip damage.
P.S. Finally checked myself, Seth has 800 HP. DO NOT BELIEVE ANY other number. I just sat in the Training room for a good 10 minutes calculating the scaling and everything.
Yes, Seth is the lowest in both life gauge (800) and stun (750). Akuma for example is 850 life gauge for comparison.
I got a few minutes to play last night (my roomie’s kid has been all over COD5, and I’ve been prepping for the trip). Almost got the hop into ultra down most of the time.
I should jump around more, I try to avoid that, but with Seth, maybe it will be an exception.
Seth definitely has 700 health not 800 you can tell becasue a combo with gouken that does like 660 leaves him with barely a sliver of life, left. The japanese console mook says that, the srk wiki says that. how’d you test?
8 roundhouses from Ryu without combo. Just recorded the damage for all 8 kicks (even the scaled ones and found it to be greater than 750, leaving him with about 3-5% health).
I didn’t believe that Wiki because all the information is from the SF4 Prima Guide, which also say Akuma’s Super is performed with qcf. qcf. Punch… Don’t trust that shit except for the Frame Data.
Edit: How many characters have stun greater than their health? Seth would be the only one if it was true.
Northeast and no|so-cal teams are lookin hotttt. Northwest we gotta pull through wtf, this team should be solid already!
I think Fuerte has more stun than life?
The wiki info is from the jap mook not the prima guide. Thats how it has frame data for console characters which the prima guide didn’t have. The prima guide said seth had 800 life If I remeber correctly.
Also I tried a system similar to yours and there is some weird extra scaling that happens thats hard to figure out the actual life totals just be recording it, I tried something similar when the game came out can be seen here http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=177479 and then came up with an apparently accurate way to figure out life totals then when I tried it with seth he had 700 life…
edit: also lolz re-reading that thread its kind of confusing (I had the arcade mook btw not the console mook)
edit: rereading wiki I guess there is no console mook just training mode stuff, and they got that data from training mode… numbers line up with the ones I got in the other thread though, maybe they were just using my method though???
I just looked in my Prima guide, it does say Seth has 800 life, and 750 Stun Gauge.
I don’t know if I can trust anything anymore so I’m just going to pretend he has 600HP, and play extra smart.
Here’s the Prima Guide Official Stance on how to perform a Raging Demon:

Team NW SFIV Qualification Seth Discussion.
Thread title change plz!
I’ve been eating Rare Candies for the last 2 weeks so my Seth’s Level is booming.
Yea, I got my stats from the prima guide. There’s that error you pointed out, but it’s listed as correct on the left hand table with all the other moves.
In any case jalapNo, remember that the running away tactic works pretty well with Seth. Get the opponent frustrated and they will come to you, making mistakes along the way. I believe that the timer is in Seth’s favor, and if it comes down to say you being down 1 hit with 10 seconds on the clock, you have lots of ways to get ahead in that 10 seconds.
Oh, you can also run the clock with the ultra/super animations, although Seth’s ultra if misses is very quick as opposed to Ryu’s ultra startup.
And if all else fails, you always got 'em stretchy arms!
woo seth discussion!
Uhm, blanka tips versus seth.
- Up ball when he jumps
- Electricity beats his long limb jumping fierces
- Up ball
- EX up ball
- Random ultras
- Up ball!
Good lord, we must be on the same wave length.
You can’t measure health by just beating up a training dummy - that doesn’t factor in the GUTS rating ~
