I know I’ve said my pieces about not liking the game and had my differences with members of the current SFIV community, but I still want to see the community and region I’ve played with and been a part of for three years now do well.
There’s one huge problem here that we cannot solve at this point- NW 5v5 has lost a LOT of time.
Seems like everyone (including Dan) is going to be a bit behind come Evo. I understand that other regions have had their squabbles, but those that have their teams for the most part set have been practicing, and doing it together a lot. The Seattle 5v5 team has some catching up to do, especially with each other. Chemistry matters, matchups matter, practice matters. We’re all coming in a little weak, because when we aren’t dealing with our personal lives, we’re dealing with politics and forum crap as much as playing SFIV.
To quote Mandel/Frank’s cries of old… “LESS TALK, MORE SFIV!!!”
Edit: And I mean more serious gatherings. No sandbagging casuals, no fun nights. 24/7 ASSHOLE MODE. Julien Beasley knows this one, and that’s the reason he did as well as he did last year in ST.
I have every day off ,except for this saturday, until the monday after evo.
My mexico trip was axed, which means I have a week off of work and nothing to do. If there’s enough interest, I could open up my place all week for some daily evo practice before we leave.
I can get it about 70% now, but I figured out something really neat. After fadcing from a spiral arrow, cammy can do combos that would normally whiff if she does them standing at the same distance.
For example, you can do cr lk cr lp cr lk RH SA FADC cr lk cr lp cr lk cannon spike fadc back ultra.
This was on ryu, and no matter what I tried I could not get cr lk, cr lp, cr lk, cannon spike to land without fadcing. Hella raw.
dude i was thinking about that right after i saw that you could do that nasty ass loop but apparently im retarded and i must ultra too fast or slow after cannon spike fadc back so i usually whiff ultra, or get 1 hit. on p2 side for some reason i can do it np. cammy is tight
It’s easier to move your limbs outward with precision than inwards (left hand moving inwards when on 1p side). It takes a lot of training and good hand-eye coordination to overcome that.
i guess thats the downside of not having a team earlier before evo. honestly dont know how the chemistry would work perfectly for our team since it will be set up at last minute. i dont think i can come down again before vegas, sorry guys, too busy with my own shit lately. practice hard everyone
I’ve been watching everyones progression and tourney showings and talking to all who have had interest in challenging and have basically come to the conclusion that only about 3 or 4 people have the mind set and the focus to benefit the team if they were to challenge.
So come EVO, Thursday night or Sometime in the sea of pool play on friday (shuddder) we will do our challenge and finalize our team.

Be warned, even though your name is on the challenge list, u might get choosen to step down based on any new Info (character match ups, other regions set ups, etc) we get by that time.
Just to clear things up, ONLY the people on the Challenge List are allowed to challenge. We dont have much time even at EVO to finalize our team, so cant really have it a free for all to challenge cause it would take forever. So Only the people showing up under that list need to worry about challenging. I hope you all are playing hard!
