      Portland General: YALL NEED TO STAND FUCK UP FOR YOURSELVES. the #1 question i get asked by the seattle folks is " How come you always have to go to bat for your city and no one else does? " I have never really come up with a answer for that one. The answer is simple to me because the swagger i carry and my intent on not giving a fuck and always willing to ride for my city. I know most of yall have your reasons for not posting on shit " dont wanna start drama etc,etc, etc " but yall really need to get some spine. I guarantee you PORTLAND,  this whole thing would be as bad if yall took the time to step up for yourselves. Yall can say " well Jetay, we didnt ask you to defend us? " well, thats koo, but i can also guarantee you it would be even worse for you respect wise. You guys better step the fuck up come challenge time whenever that is figured out.

It amazes that people that go to Gameworks suddenly feel that they have this super strong presence within our scene just because they got themselves a few new fighting games (not talking about future here, cause he’s gone to Zach’s, and has been to tournaments in Tacoma).

ok, as of lately im in a slump in sf4. lack of practice really, but i was honored to see my name on the first 15 on that list, so im going to assume that i have a valid opinion on the matter.

this beef is crazy. people talking all this and that. now, is this because of frustration? or is everyone just anxious to see the team come together? why are people getting all salty about it when theyre not on the team?

i came to realize cole picked the right people because: they are solid, know their characters well, have the COMPOSURE to stay focused in any situation, and they have a drive to be the best. now, you can say “well thefuture never comes to anything, hes like LTB” ok. thats my nigga and he goes to gameworks and plays every skill level from guys who cant throw fireballs to guys doin combos off of counter hits. he may not come play with us (the srk community), but he puts his time on the sticks in, no homo. he has a life outside of games too so chillin with 60 guys on a friday night isnt what hes rather do.

scrubbydan, he doesnt live here to play against us, but has he even really lost? hes been sent to losers, but he always clutched it out. i think hes proven himself to be a strong addition to the team. he even had balls to talk shit to me hahahah that means hes not gonna back down from any challenges hes going to face.

we all know deezo and cole. theyre just too raw. hearts of champions.

now ltb, ive heard hes hungry in this game, but hes still new, but has come a long way form when i first saw him play. has all the tools to play but jsut needs to use them and put them together. if anything, hes the one who needs to come to the gatherings the most and get used to all the matchups. but i could be wrong, he could know all of them by now and be hella raw, but he only wants to play king (who is rediculous with gief) and cole is the problem.

so why do people have problems with this? you think youre better than deezo? cole? dan? ltb? peachy? jason? thats the point of the challenge.

and rickclops, just seriously watch what you say, you rubbed people the wrong way with what youve posted.

I really don’t see how having “team chemistry” is an argument here for who should or shouldn’t be on the team. Team NW should consist of our 5 best players, period. Cole has set the initial 5, and anyone who doesn’t deserve their spot will be challenged off at Evo. If LTB, or anyone else for that matter, is still on the team when the time comes, they deserve it. And I don’t want to hear anyone saying anything about this or that person being on the team after the challenges.

Is the rest of the team going to be “distracted” if someone they don’t care for is also on the team? Please. If the team is distracted by something that trivial, they’re gonna have a meltdown come Evo when they have 8 other regions barking in their ears. You think that every member of a successful team (even one where teamwork is a factor in gameplay) has to like each other? Team NW does not need chemistry whatsoever. That’s like saying my bowling team needs chemistry. The team won’t be playing simultaneously or together, people, they play their matches one at a time. Even if a nobody (or somebody I didn’t particularly like) made the team, I’d still go crazy for them when they played Justin Wong. The only thing that is even remotely a factor regarding chemistry is character composition and order, a point which Cole already addressed.

Regardless, a win at the 5v5 tourney will be a team effort no matter how you look at it. No single player is going to determine the fate of the team. No matter what happens or who’s on the team at the end of the day, they are representing the NW, not Seattle, not Portland, not Vancouver (our SF4 Evo 2009 de facto NW city). So, in the words of Jason Cole:

To add onto the chemistry argument I’d like to quote Alex Valle from his interview on evo2k.com.

“Basically everyone on the team has a job and has a duty, and I?ve put them on blast at the beginning to let them know they?re on the team and they have an obligation to not let people down. So they?re practicing their ass of. I don?t want to run a tournament because I don?t want a random player to come in there with no chemistry with the team and not be able to perform on a consistent level. They could just be hot for that month.”
