TEAM NW SF4 Quals! Dates,Times..Ambition

Yep, you earned it.

TEAM WILDCARD

Cole - Dhalsim
Elliott - Gouken
Elias - Fuerte
The Future - Honda
Heavy D - Cammy

SFIV is a game of matchups, and the other 5v5 teams will never see these coming.

Siiiiiiiiiigh. Okay.

I really really really really like, need people to understand what I’m going to say.

-The team is not final.
-Challenges will be in effect.
-Cole didn’t pick the team like he did because of location. He did it cause he himself, believed that was the best five.
-This ain’t no Seattle vs Portland conspiracy bullshit. Please stop with that, because I never once heard Cole say “Yeah we’re Seattle.” He’s always said “Yeah we’re Northwest.”
-The. Team. Is. Not. Final.

So, because I’m sick of reading all this shit, I hope that everyone finds someone to challenge and shows up when Cole announces the date. Period. I hope to God people show up. I really do.

Shut up hoe and go play Mattel vs Capcom 2.

One person doesn’t speak for everyone in Seattle.

Cole hasn’t changed his mind how people are going to be chosen no matter what anyone says on here anyway.

Probably the same 4 people that no one else can beat, no idea on the 5th.

 I don’t even get it anymore. Ya I don’t show up to many events, I just play at Gw everyday. I’m not into playing at peoples houses at all. I’m more of a arcade head and always will be. I’m not going to a tourney on Friday night that starts late every time and wait around till 5am in the morning for what?

Point is honestly the team is whatever, there not really a team. Nobody practices together as a whole to learn important matches. It’s really going to come down to learning the matches on your own and develop your OWN technique to do well.

Portland got the shaft because well… your Portland and Cole doesn’t live there basically:rofl: I say challenge everybody who cares at this point. Nobody should be exempt. You want to make the team challenge somebody and make the team. Yada Yada Yada 3 weeks and this lame shit is still going on with no official team practice.

O wait I missed it yesterday:rofl: Anyway I’m hungry as hell and play to win every time!!

confused on how u see this to be a team of matchup.
cammy, gouken, help me out here?

+1, funny how alot of people think LTB, is bad, kinda lucky he doesn’t go to people’s houses, same with future haha.

huh? LTB, Dan, Future, Cole won’t lose to anyone else around here.

Would be cool if people helped each other out more, but how would that work. Blake told me some things about HDR in the beginning and Cole seems to have an answer for everything. Probably most people around here will try to help if you ask them directly. Who would want someone telling them how to play if they didn’t ask anyway.

oh i know they dont lose, im just talkin about everybody’s opinion on the 5 man team. they don’t choose ltb, which i think is kinda absurd, just my 2 cents though.

who cares if someone is holding a grudge

if they tried to send team best friends it would be team 5 losses

Question: Who the fuck are you and who gives a shit about your 2 cents?

Answer: No one and no one.

This is SF4, it’s a match up game. LTB and his “I only want to play with Cole and King” attitude is NOT going to get it done come Evo.

what if LTB is never going to show up for anything, including the challenge date(s?)… In that event does someone else get his spot by default?

yeah, your right. my bad.

attitude is NOT going to get it done come Evo. =] who are u?

good point.

it kinda sounds like the people in charge of really puting the team together and scouting/deciding on players need to have a Portland representitive/scout that your constantly in touch with, cause i can assure you the hype for SF4 isnt fading. seattle may be a bigger city with more heads but you have to see more then 1 tournament in portland/OR before you say people here arnt hyped about SF4.
and if seeing the person in action is a deciding factor then you need impartial reps in every state of the “NW”, imo the player shouldent be to blame when it sounds like most of the people doing the deciding live in a differnet state.
but thats just my 2 cents, and id really like to see BBH represent portland at evo lol.

Edit: ^about to get struck, but i still vote more impartial scouting.
2nd Edit: but it does sound like more portland players need to try and make it up to WA to show they can play people outside their state. WA came down for random select, there should probably be more opportunities like that for all NW states.

I’m the motherfucker here lacing up suckers when they post dumbass shit, isn’t it obvious? Please, unplug your keyboard, go back to the LTB nuthuggers dojo and practice uppercuts, absolutely NO ONE on this board wants to read your opinion on SF (or probably anything else for that matter,) I’m just the only one who will tell you.

Everyone can lose. These players are very consistant but no one is above losing.

Not like I am going to challenge anyone though.

from what i’ve known about LTB in fighting games is that…

he is strong in the games that he plays.

he’s patient and good at baiting.

but i agree with icd-3’s snip that he does need to drop the “i only want to play the top 2~3” mindset especially with a game so new. it’s the unexpected that i expect to win.

at any rate goodluck to everyone bangin’ it out to be on the NW team i appreciate your hard work and dedication.

No the real question is who the FUCK are you? Listen do you even know why LTB was “blacklisted” from our scene? Here’s a hint: EMPIRE ARCADIA.

Check it, LTB isn’t a bad player, but he’s not playing SFIV like SFIV, he’s playing it like 3s. And you’re talking about how he doesn’t lose? I saw him get beasted on Airthrow last time I was at GW’s and last I checked Julian hasn’t even been playing the game since he doesn’t have a 360.

Listen myself and probably a bunch of other people don’t know who the fuck you are. But trust me coming in here busting out the pom pom’s for someone that the majority of team seattle doesn’t like is NOT the best way to do shit around here. Now I’ve let the past be and I have no beef with LTB, but I’m definately watching him with a close eye because if he goes back to how he used to be where as trace put it only wants to play the best 2-3 people in Seattle (from what I can tell LTB is over that).

And since you seem to be swing high and mighty off of John’s nuts, do you know how he’s done at past EVO’s? While he was doing well he’s been known to choke under pressure (why doesn’t he choke here? Because there are very few people that can hold a candle to him in 3s). So honestly I don’t think having LTB on the team from start was a smart decision, I wouldn’t stop him from challenging because if he earned it he earned it, but off jump? Especially when there are way more people that have been putting in work to make it on the team? Come on man.

Edit: About scouting, honestly it’s too little too late imo. We have SIXTEEN DAYS until evo. I don’t even think we have enough time to like throw the challenges in there too. But check it if PDX is really sunburned about this whole 5v5 thing hows about we have a 5v5 exhibition match at NWM? Seattle vs PDX?

Everyone should just take a chill pill for a second. I don’t think anyone is trying to say Portland is bad. BBH from what I’ve been told is a good Bison (have yet to play you so it’s only by word of mouth), so I can’t compare his Bison to Frank’s.

I can say for one, Frank has become WAY more consistent within the last 2 months that I’ve been a part of the scene. I know I’ve been improving myself from Total Scrub to Learning-combos scrub, so I can tell he’s been advancing at a much quicker pace learning tactics and match-ups. I said it before, I’ve never seen/played BBH so I cannot compare your Bisons (it’s only fair to not be biased either way).

To everyone making the comment/replying to the comment on “chemistry”. It’s not just playing the game together and training. Chemsitry is much different in this game compared to games like CS. In CS, you have to play for weeks to months before Chemistry is even breathed upon for a CS team. Sometimes you will click with people on the team, but that is highly unlikely with 5 people on a team during scrims/matches. To be able to trust someone completely to cover your 6, or flash at a certain time, counter-pick the opposing team, and executing strategies within a 3 second period is VERY hard to come by. In SF4, it seems like more of a personality chemistry. Such as whether you can get along with all 5 people on the team, can be confident in certain situations/match-ups during the 5v5, ignore the “pressure” and play like it doesn’t exist… What happens if at Evo, these people don’t know each other very well and say someone offends a team mate? The offended team mate will either bottle it up, and not want to play on the same team anymore or will blow up on the person who spoke the insult and create tension/awkwardness within the team only days within Evo?

These are only a few things that go into Team efforts.

The last reason I will put out there to the Portland scene: What if you do well in your area, but can’t perform when you’re out of your element, say like at Preppy’s? The Team would not be pleased if you can play good at home and then choke at Evo… Not one bit. We call those peeps LAN Virgins in the CS community, playing phenominal at home but suck at tournaments.

I’ll be honest Portland, you got some of Seattle’s best to come down and play with you, and that’s what they expect in return. Hopefully none of you take this the wrong way with me being completely new to the scene, but that’s just my opinion on the matter, and you can take it how you will, or just ignore it.

didn’t know, now i do. thanks

We sittin’ here. I’m supposed to be the franchise player, and we in here talkin’ bout PRACTICE.

NOT A GAME, NOT A GAME, NOT A GAME. we talkin’ bout PRACTICE.

HOW THE HELL CAN I MAKE MY TEAMMATES BETTER BY PRACTICE?!
