I won’t take everything I say for gospel. But juri has ways out… Use them. Cammy uses her dp, bison uses crusher/teleport. Seth uses dp/teleport.
It’s all about using it at the right time. If you feel your opponent is going do something with a large gap (overheads, jumps, non-block string specials) wait for the gap and use it. Keep your eyes open and react. Like fei long I wait till i think I see overhead… And s.mk it. Ive reset the situation and earned some space…
Don’t just mash… But use it when you really think it’s gonna work. That’s what I mean by don’t respect them. Don’t let them do whatever they want.
Ggs all. Please don’t take my gameplay as gospel as I play juri my way… It’s what works for me… But something might work for you. We just have to share our knowledge.
Your understanding of Juri as a character is such that you shouldn’t sell yourself short. Both sides of her game are important for her to be played effectively. A good Juri player should be able to zone when needed, and RTSD when needed. I personally feel that due to the advantages she gets from fuhajin release and IOH pressure, she shines the most *slowly working the opponent to the corner and then exploiting those options. *That doesn’t mean she cannot win playing a zoning game, as Jaguar was so kind to show me yesterday.
My goal with FSE was always to wait for an opening, then punish with as long combo as I could do and then go into a reset. I never really used it for pressure so much as getting as much damage as possible with two straight combos or so.
If it’s not too late I’d like to join.

I’ve just started playing Juri so I’d like to use this to learn as much as possible. I’ve actually just started getting into fighting games.recently, so I’m pretty new to this.
Glad to have you on board and everyone will be more than to help you with Juri. What region are you in, so I can make note (East,West, Midwest, Southwest, etc)
This is where we differ in thought. You will create any opening by being in. FSE should be an extension of your Juri’s rushdown ability. What I mean is, you wouldnt wait for an opening to appear would you? No. You would create one (hopefully), and when the opening is available you rip it open. Same idea. I try to enter FSE as safely as I can (through cross up’s that will beat reversal options, J.HP, safe jumps, Option selects, etc etc), and pressure while I’m in. Sometimes someone will stop blocking mid way through. Sometimes an overhead will hit them. Sometimes they’ll just eat the combo and you take advantage as much as you can.
FSE is like learning a new stance…or a new character. Her normals are different, her combos are different…her hit confirms are different, her poking is MUCH different, and her mindgames are different. Try and use FSE more and you’ll see what I mean.
Whenever I’m on, msg me for games. I only play Juri so If you dont like Mirrors…sorry, heh. I will play as much as I can and I will try and help out with any questions.
As a sidenote…all NY Juris should be trying to go out to Next Level in Brooklyn. An arcade with Setups. I really think its important to get out there and play REALLY good players and learn how the game is played at a higher level.
This is kind of unrelated, but if you guys go to Next Level, you should try out KOF XIII. It’s a really good game, and I think Juri players in particular would appreciate the pace of the game compared to SF.
Played a ton of games with saixhinata, His Juri is awesome. The coolest thing about playing against other Juri players is how different everyone’s style is with her. Jag, You should definitely get some games with him. His zoning game is top notch, and his footsies are also, would certainly help your game. I’m very interested to see how Kail and him match up. Should be great.
I just played a bunch of games against FetZ and it was rough. D:
Things I learnt (well actually more like ‘things I had reiterated with extreme prejudice’ ;p):
[]I can’t block anything
[]I can’t tech anything
[]I can’t anti-air anything
[]I know no block strings or combos
[]My execution sucks
[]My spacing sucks
Out of all the games we played I won 2 rounds (not games, rounds) and I’m pretty sure one of em was because FetZ was just straight up going easy on me.
Sigh Looks like I have a very long road ahead of me. But everyone’s gotta start somewhere right? ;D
