Ha, the Steam forums are in an outrage over the tickets. I swear they get touchier about their games than SRK does. I for one don’t mind coughing up a dollar occasionally or a few times seeing as I’ve only spent $5 on this game so far. I don’t like “You think this is bad?” arguments, but if this were a Korean or Chinese F2P, the tickets would probably be gone if you failed the map unlike here.
The lack of Engiebot is a bit odd, but I can understand why he was left out. Imagine a robo-engie building tons of minisentries all over the place and sneaking around your lines. Now imagine five of them doing that. Yeah. If they are to implement an engiebot in the future (I kind of hope they do; missing one class does feel off), it’d probably be limited to maybe 2 on the field at a time, with low spawn rates.
Fucking Robo Demomen. Those dbags and Spies have caused me the most grief, thus far. I was tending my sentry and saw enough blue grenades fly up on my screen to make me think I was playing Call of Duty on Veteran. I had a spy back-stab me, while I was worried about one of those machines blowing up my equipment. They are as big of a nuisance as human spies.
I just started playing this game again for the first time in years, about a couple of weeks ago, so…I have no clue about the extra items. That said, at base, Pyros and Engies are a fucking godsend in this mode. Airblast can knock the 5 or so medics away, that are charging any of the Giant Heavies(also check for spies). Two engies are great to have.
If a bunch of people leave, then you might as well just restart. New players on later waves, with no upgrades, will put you at a big disadvantage.
edit: This isn’t powered by L4D’s Director, is it?
Tried to play some MvM again tonight with friends. The queue was much shorter (at least by half). But we ran into something incredibly stupid both times we tried to join a match: Private Servers. We tried joining twice and then left to go play elsewhere. What I don’t get is why private servers would appear on a matchmaking service intended to connect groups to public servers. It’s dumb.
I’m not mad about it, but allowing this is counterintuitive. I think I’ll go make a SPUF whine post about it.
I know I can use the server browser, but that doesn’t guarantee I’ll be able to play with my whole party during prime time. And this needs to be fixed anyway.
The only time IIRC hats affected gameplay was during the first polycount sets (you get a speed boost with pyro’s full set, health increase with scout’s full set, quieter uncloak with spy’s set, etc.).
