I was exactly the same as this poor man. When it was new, it was all good, yo. Then the Pyro update came out and fucked the game up. D:
Lol.
Complaining about pyro is the equivalent to complaining about blanka.
It actually takes effort to play a pyro right. One of the more recent updates made things ridiculous. Like how OP the demoknights are now. I can get pretty much oneshotted by their charge/chop, loch n load or their stickies. You know something is wrong when a demo can charge a heavy/medic combo and actually take down the heavy with buffed health.
I don’t think he was complaing about the Pyro class itself…more of the “Pyro Update”.
I’m actually surprised that the 360 port got up to that update…I heard the PS3 port didn’t get updates AT ALL since release.
Most of the pyro update consisted of pyro stuff. So I’d assume that he’s saying the reason the game went to shit is because of when the pyro got stuff like the back burner and various ways to maximize their w+m1. (noob pyros, etc.)
The game kinda started going south when we got the player store and all the polycount stuff.
Thinks started turning for a stupid change, but most of it was livable. Still is. A lot of effort still has to be needed to play each class efficiently. However, The one that takes least is demoman, now.
Nah. Console and PC were on equal terms until that point. Pyro was the first update. Threw the whole table off. Once that update came out, it was DONE for consoles. There’s no reason to play Orange Box on a 360/PS3 anymore. D:
Unless you were like me, and trapped your fellow teammates behind a glass window above the 2Fort intel room with a well placed teleporter exit.
(^o^)/
Remember when playing Demoman took skill? Now its just move forward and mash your mouse. W+M1 Demos.
Hehe, complaining about classes you don’t play.
It still takes skill to get even a targe-powered crit timed correctly with a hit. You aren’t invincible against heavies, as mentioned above. I die often from them. The only way I manage to score heavy kills with melee is if I circle around them (easier on payload as the bomb is their magnet and you’ve got a cover)
I main as a demoknight, because his weapons and abilities parallels close to someone… TAKE A WILD GUESS!
I thought Spy was an easy peasy class at one time too… then I tried the spy and got all 3 milestones in one match. WAS IT TOUGH!
I hit 1000 hours of total playtime in TF2 today. Is this awesome y/n?
n because playtime doesn’t matter when you’ve got pathetic idlers hitting tens of thousands thinking it means something.
I like pubstomping
Oh well. At least for legit players it is a testament to how good this game really is, methinks. Been playing this since 2008. These updates never tire me.
You mean, the first update where things started going downhill? Or the first update in general? The first big update was the Goldrush/Medic one, not counting the little ones before that.
But despite all of the bullshit I’ve had to go through sometimes (especially as a Medic), I still love this game.
And yeah, I usually eat Demoknights as a Sandvich substitute as a Hoovy. Unless they circle-strafe around me. Then they take a little longer to kill and I’m left with 4 hp. Either that, or I’m dead.
I find it odd that they can airdash… Aircharging Demoknights are hilarious when NoGrav is on. They just charge straight through the air whenever they feel like it. And when you’ve got Demoknights flying all over the place, it’s just an awesome sight to behold.
Whoops. Sorry, you’re right. It’s the Medic that murdered console TF2. lol.
Basically, once Valve went gold on the very first major update, it broke parity between console and PC and that sealed the deal for console and any hope of being played regularly.
…but yeah, you have to admit. For every 1 “Demoknight” that uses the sword and the Chargin’ Targe effectively, there’s 50 that just kind of swing wildly, hoping for a lucky kill.
Thinking on it now, when I first started this game, my best was scout. Now? Scout is my most horrible class to date. Pyro is probably second, but I’m a damn good one other than most of the ones who just w+m1 now.
I don’t even play demo or heavy a lot, but I’m pretty damn good at them, too.
as of an hour or so ago, valve made the quake-con items valid in the crafting scheme
important note: they do NOT have specific recipes, so you’ll need to try your luck at getting 1/6 chance to get a quake launcher with a soldier token and primary token and a scrap
edit: valve just announced steam trades. meaning you can, in steam, trade your TF2 items AND gift-category games in the same transaction
Nice…been wanting to get some items on the sly.
I’ve been playing for a long time, and nope, still don’t remember when playing Demoman took any skill. Not saying there weren’t skilled demos out there, but most of the demos that I saw in pubs were nothing but hardcore spammers.
^_-;
I’m tempted to get the Quake RL now, even though I don’t play much Solly. It’s like a stealth RL; it’s pretty quiet and muffled compared to the others. At least, in a chaotic battlefield anyway.
So, you can only trade games you haven’t downloaded to the library yet, right?
