yeah, I’ve hit people from a distance away and did very little damage to them Even up close, I usually only do like 100 and change
I was looking at that, and the black box. Somebody in another thread was discussing how they liked the black box. Could have just been an inuendo for african-american vagina though…
edit: HOLY FUCK I HATE TEAM CAPTAINS…random dudes join a game midway, and suddenly bitch about every little fucking detail…oh, why do we have this many spies, or this many heavys? I think our whole team should do this “XXXXXXXXXXXXXX”. Seriously, fuck right off. Why is a heavy who’s ONLY JOB is to have a medic tag along, telling everybody how to play???
Also, I played a game today where I kept fucking switching sides…i REALLY don’t like how that shit works…I spent like 2 mins setting up ports, sentry guns, and dispensers, then go to die so I can respawn, and drag all the shit through the teleporter, and then WHAM, i end up on the other team, in the middle of an ass fucking.
then next round, SAME SHIT. I set up everything, and get switched BACK. Twice in like 5 minutes, I was so fucking confused
Ah, I can see that. Is the bullet vulnerability really as crippling as some Pyros make it out to be?
And I feel you on the Flare Gun. I personally like shotgun for Pyro vs. Pyro encounters and for firing into a flaming crowd while retreating. Also because I can’t precision aim for shit. But I mostly play Medic and Heavy anyway, with some Soldier mixed in. Though the Flaregun has its benefits over just playing Hunts/Lucksman Sniper. For one, you can move around at normal speed while aiming. Two, you can quickly switch to your flamer if need be, especially with the Degreaser. Three, if you’re using the Degreaser, you can change that weapon’s weaker afterburn into the normal afterburn by hitting them with a flare. So it’s not completely inferior to Huntsman. I think shotty/flares are good sidegrades. Can’t say much for the Detonator, though; I need to see more of it.
If your Medics aren’t Kritzing Soldiers, tell them to. Even a bad Soldier can just spam his way to victory and wipe out a whole point. Though I do Kritz Heavies sometimes if enemies are more spread out or are at longer ranges and we can’t get to them safely.
Also, how do I get an invite to join the SRK Steam group?
Until I pay money, I effectively have no friends list. I’d have to join a server I play
One was posted a few pages back, and I usually hop on there
And a good medic should know which class to uber, depending on the situation. Huge groups of dudes, it’s soldier time. Small enclosed hallway, and u should go with pyro. And so on. Too many medics think they should only uber heavys
ugh yeah. just when i start saving up my metal for it, a new update with a bunch of new items comes out and i gotta use it all up to get the new stuff.
And yeah, new Medics tend to get stuck to Heavies. Though I can’t blame them; the big guy needs a lot of attention, and he is a good Medic buddy. But Soldiers help build Über better by hurting themselves more, even though Heavies have the GRU.
exactly! Good soldiers can help a medic get uber’d faster, by rocket jumping around. I’ve just seen dumb shit though, like you need a heal, your health is shit, you’re defending a point, and medic just sits there building uber on a heavy while you spam MEDIC repeatedly.
speaking of n00bs, i just played a game that was FULL of lispy 12 year olds complaining about shit and being scrubby in general. People would build turrets at spawn, and they would freak out that we were doing this (during the setup phase, when you can just run back to spawn and grab more metal). Or I would setup spawn camps, and NOBODY would go near them, thus having them just fall to waste
SOOOOOOOOOO many shitty spies that would run up to me as a pyro, then just stand there looking at me (and we’re all alone), waiting for me to turn around. I must have killed the same spy like 24 times.
I discovered I fucking HATE when some dude has an idea of how to play a round, and pretty much spends the entire game telling EVERYBODY else how to play, what class to pick, and even where to stand and shit. Then they freak out when people won’t do it. Seriously, this is TEAM Fortress, not Command Everybody Else Fortress. You want that, play an RTS.
On that note, I leveled up almost all my dudes, except heavy and medic. I didnt realize I actually had found a lot of stuff early (one of the first items I found was the backburner for the Pyro, which made levelling his ass up quite easy). Speaking of Medics, I crafted a Quick Fix for him…I’m up in the air on which uber is the best for the Medic. Sure, invincibility is damn sexy, but retardedly quick uber and REALLY high healing rate, combined with the fact I can move as fast as a scout, makes the Quick Fix hard to not use…
some swords vary in their ranges, the claihdemor is longer and less critical, and the persian persuader (MY TOTAL FAVOOOOORITE) is very short and non critical
