The nerf on the Sandman is to make it suitable in competitive play, and in my opinion, it didn’t really fix it too much. IMO, stunning Ubers is way to good. Uber already has it tough enough with the compression blast.
Can’t you still stun Kritzkreig ubers with the Sandman?
Frankly, I like how they allow the Heavy to continue revving his gun when he’s stunned. Before the changes, he was a walking bullseye target if he’s against a Sandman scout - now he’s actually got a bloody chance with all these changes.
Well this update actually inspired me to start playing tf2 again. Wasn’t too bad, but i only played spy and sniper. And i was toasted cuz i dont remember much. KOTH is fun though
Previously, if you were in range to put them to juggle state, you only needed one pellet in your shot to lift them up. One pellet juggling them up was the same result as all twelve hitting them. That did not make sense to a lot of us in beta. So, it was changed according to damage done. Knockback physics in general were changed because of the freeze-like effect it had when it hits sometimes, mostly from mid range shots.
Sandman:
It was clear to pretty much everyone that stunning guys who were “invincible” was ridiculous so that was that. It’s much more balanced now due to that and the new drawback, but I still don’t like the stun mechanic itself. I do not think it belongs in this game.
