I read that this morning and I really didn’t like what I saw. It really sounds like they want to toss him into the fray, but that seems like the complete anti-thesis of being a Sniper.
So what can they give him that does fall in line with the Sniper school of thought? Bigger rifle? Rifle that disables kill cam? Booby traps?

hell, fucking, yes. I’m always an offensive sniper so that sounds very interesting
I was personally hoping they would replace the sniper rifle with something like a longbow; something that can shoot a bit faster and in weird arcs (also go over walls and stuff), but a bit weaker to compensate. I’d figure if they adjusted the maps to handle rocket jumping and Scout Sandbat shenanigans, it could handle this.
The thing is, there’s already a couple of RPG elements in the game that don’t bother me, such as the damage range instead of static damage, damage falloff, buffs/debuffs like the Bonk/Natascha, changeable weapon loadout, etc.
But the more I hear about gameplay-affecting attire/gear, consumables, and loot, the more worried I get.
None of the updates have been bad thus far though, so I’m giving Valve the benefit of the doubt.
right now the spy is not so easy to find because they blend in with everybody when camoed. but if you start givin people cosmetic changes that personalize your character it would be harder to not notice certain people me thinks. although i know the camo just has to look like the customized character… i think it still would be a bad idea.
plus if the other team doesnt have a certain type of class and you camo as him, he would stand out as a non customized character amongst customized peeps no?
The Huntsman: You will shoot them and they will stick to the wall and they will die
Any experienced sniper will tell you how irritating it is when your targets keep moving around. The question is how to stop these cheaters from wind-sprinting around like they own the place. And the answer is to pin them to a wall. How? With arrows!
“Now, hold on,” you might be thinking. “I’m strong, but no one could throw an arrow that hard.” Introducing the Huntsman longbow, which solves that age-old throwing problem.
“Now, hold on,” you keep saying. “Aren’t bows and arrows primitive and harmless?” Why don’t you ask the dinosaurs? Except you can’t, because the cavemen bow and arrowed them to death. One headshot from the Huntsman can mean an instant crit, in addition to a bolt-riddled corpse hanging from a wall that’s gruesome and funny.
And even if you don’t kill them, they’ll carry around a certain arrow-shaped something as a living testament to your awesome archery skills and their frankly unawesome dodging skills. Comes with 18 arrows and a one-second charge for full power shots.
What else is there? Shouldn’t the hunter get 3 things too besides just a new weapon?
What’s their flare gun/baseball?
Dammit, time to go achievement farming… Took me like 30 boring-ass minutes last night running my own private server to just get the Force-a-Nature with scout…
I just contacted Robin Walker and he said that the Sniper arrow can be reflected by the Pyro and that the headshot property will still be in the reflected arrow. Yay, Pyro can snipe now.

I wanna see some Spy update, since I use him 2 times more than any other character.
And anyone else agree with me that most of the unlockable weapons are just gimmicks? The only good ones are the Ubersaw, Blutsauger, the Axtinguisher, and the Stun Bat (but thats just broken so yeah).

I have to admit that the first Sniper unlockable weapon is better than I was expecting. After reading what Valve was saying about wanting the Sniper to “give up some his distance/playstyle” for the new weapons, I was a little worried and concerned about the approach they were going to take. Now I’m curious to see how effective this thing will be.
Finally unlocked BONK Energy Drink by pulling off the Quick Hook achievement, that was pretty fun.
