TE2+ Issue (is it the PCB?)

Man this TE2+ has been nothing but trouble. About 6 months ago I had to replace the stock cable (it was losing connection and only the red mode and lock/unlock lights were on) and now I’ve got another issue:

Periodically, the stick will ‘lock up’ and be unresponsive. In game I’m usually stuck crouching and all other buttons don’t work and the only fix is to unplug it and replug it into the PS4. All the lights including the light bar and lock/unlock buttons are lit during this.

Is this an issue with the PCB? How do I go about fixing it? Solder off all the down input diodes? Buy and install a Brooks board? Trash the whole thing and buy a Qanba Obsidian?

Sorry to hear that, it’s very common with the TE2+. I would try the diode fix first. You can probably sell it on eBay or something and get at least a $100+ even with the issue with the PCB. FYI the Qanba Obsidian is on sale at newegg for $139 with coupon code EMCPVRE68.

Yeah after some more googling, I opened it up and scraped off the D11 diode (which they tell me is for the down input) and I’ll see if that works. Strongly considering the Obsidian anyway, however. My old Q4 RAF never let me down.

If you like the fightstick, maybe dump the TE2+ controller and install a brook ?

Looks like the Newegg Qanba deal expired.

Damn. Well it’s still $185 on Amazon. I’ll see if my stick locks up anymore now that I’ve taken the diode off.

You’re in Panthera range now

please do yourself a favour and try to install a UFB with a EZMod or something if you can do it…

Those PCB’s end up killing themselves :frowning:

why not sell the te2, and buy a brooks converter and use your Q4 (obviously check that its compatible)

and spend the left over cash on more games
