I have a TE stick that I’m going to mod with the Cthulhu PCB. I wanted to check if anyone’s tried using the SE/TE sticks turbo button, or maybe the unlock/lock switch to change between the 360 and PS3?? Either with or without the IMP board.
I want to avoid cutting into the stick to install a button or switch, and it doesn’t seem like a difficult thing to do by the looks of it. I’ve done it before but with an HRAP, so I don’t know if it’ll work the same way because it’s a different PCB.
there have been a handfull of success mods linking the LS/RS switch. i was able to successfully mod a TE using the guide button to switch between 360 and PS3. i’m still thinking about re-soldering so that i can use the LS switch, so i don’t have to hold the button down, but everything seems to be working great i don’t want to reopen my TE and mess anything up, considering i was/is very much a novice when it came to soldering…
from what it looks like if you follow the instructions in the thread, the only change you’ll need to do is solder the guide point on the Imp to one of the LS/RS points on the PCB.
I read through that thread but didn’t see those posts, i’ll have to look through it again.
I’m not a big fan of the IMP board, I personally think it’s easier and more accident proof to just have the regular switch. It doesn’t matter if it’s the LS/RS switch or the lock/unlock, they’re never used anyway, but I think I’d rather use the LS/RS switch, since the lock switch has some kind of a use.
Yeah I saw that most put the switch inside the cable holder to get it out of sight. But I want to try and integrate it into one of the switches already there, so I won’t have to open any holes at all.
I’m also interested in how to do this as I don’t have a Drill / Dremel tool and I also don’t want to drill holes into the case.
I browse through that dual mod thread but I don’t see any specific instruction on how to do that, if this has been answered before, a link to the post would be greatly appreciate.
I’m not familiar with electronics at all but I can follow instruction.
Also, when you use the LS switch, do you disable the LS switch function and make it as an exclusive PCB switch? (likewise for the lock/unlock switch).
I don’t like the imp board because I use the stick in PC very often and I don’t want to hold down the guide button every time I plug into the PC. I needed the turbo function of TE PCB to play Shot’em up
