Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the US

As a matter of fact, I have. I’ve built graphics systems from the ground up. Still, I think my breath would be wasted here. People are more interested in being show-off know-it-alls than actually learning.

Especially since you’re so clearly forgetting that both systems are perfectly capable of sending signal out to an SDTV at 480i in 4:3 fullscreen.

Toodles.

Actually the TVC arcade board can go to 720p. . .

Frankly, I could care less about meeting the absolutely best “graphical standards.” As long as a game looks decent and plays well, I’m happy.

A decent filter could at least allow the TvsC game to be played on HD screens without the lousy dithering that plagued some Capcom ports on the Sega Dreamcast. Dreamcast ran at native 640 X 480 but even the CPS-2 games (SF Alpha 3, Vampire Chronicles) were only roughly half that resolution! Capcom finally used a filter on the Dreamcast and produced a very nice port of Super Street Fighter IIX: Grandmaster Challenge (for Matching Service – Capcom’s online fighter service in Japan) that was perhaps the best port of Super Street Fighter II Turbo. That was the sharpest visual port of SSF2Turbo prior to the HD re-release – but of course, SSF2HD had to be completely redrawn to be in HD and I don’t even know (since I don’t own SSF2HD) if the original (graphics) version of the game included in HD Remix has the filtering the Dreamcast version did.

These games can be spruced up with decent filters – they don’t have to be redrawn or redone totally CGI.

I’m guessing Capcom’s applying a filter method similar to what was done with the Dreamcast SSF2Turbo to MvC2’s online re-releases…

As for Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, that’s a game I’d like to try just for the variety of anime characters in it but frankly I’m not willing to buy a system I don’t care for just for one game. I never did understand WHY Capcom didn’t port that game at least to PS2 or PS3 unless it developed on Wii hardware and Nintendo bought an exclusive license for the game. Capcom’s a company that generally does multiplatform releases unless they believe it’s in their best interests to play favorites.

my friends on ggpo doesn’t give a shit about tvsc =(
me either lol

Why do people think shit like this is a worthwhile comment? If you don’t want to play the game then don’t.

Man i spent i think $80 importing this as my first import game ever. Now its apparently coming to NA - shiet. Will I buy the english version? Maybe… It’s a fun game.

I own TvC, im kinda suprised for a North America release, and still no confirmation for Europe :frowning:

but the only reason i would re-buy this game
is for Online Play

new characters—i dont care
Online Play—it needs to have SF4 online, meaning no button lag like other Wii games (Brawl)
Online Ranking System—Optional
Balance Issues— Un-MegaCrashable Ground Infintes FIXED
thats about it
also the Health Bars, Timer, and Special Meter are different than TvC(japan) version

Looks like TvC will live longer than I expected

They do, the MT framework. They used it for the Ps3/360 versions of DMC4, Resi5 and a few other’s, they get a bare bones PC port for free this way.

Can’t wait to get this!

Maybe as more people get into this game in the US, the scene will rise again. Im looking forward to this a little. Casshern FO EVAH!!

Cool. I knew that they talked about such a framework, but I didn’t realize they already implemented it.

Seriously. All these “I don’t care” and “Wii sucks, release it on a real system” posts can all die in a fire. They’re annoying. They’re meaningless.

Not interested in the game? Sweet for you. Go play something else.

In some of these cases though people do seem interested but don’t want to buy a system for just one game. I can’t say I blame them because I wouldn’t buy a Wii for just one game either.

I think the game looks fun as hell to play and its awesome that it is coming to the states at all. The more fighting games the better. I just hope my girl cops a Wii like she said she would then I will be all over this.

The “I don’t care” posts are definitely meaningless, but asking for it to be released on systems that don’t require some sort of shitty Wii-only arcade stick is hardly useless.

Oh, and I’m not gay or nuthin’, but I want to have gay sex with Dr. B. On account that he’s so fucking hawt. /moist

Wouldn’t it realistically be easier for a port to be on PS2 as well? Generally speaking Wii and PS2 are seen porting games between systems and is the most reasonable console for it to be on other than the Wii.

Capcom would be very wise if they hurry and release this game now and not wait until Mvc3 comes out. Once that game is out. Tvc is RIP=[

good news of course, but im not going to buy a whole new system/accessoies for it when I just spurged on a sf4 setup for xbox.

man, some games are going to get overlooked this year cause too much shit out, worried that tvc might be one of them. cant comment on anything gameplay wise since i havent played it since the evo loketests.

Great news! I was going to let this one slip away since I was not going to hack my Wii or avoid upgrades. I’ve been importing games going back to the Super Nes, though whenever I have my systems modded to do it or use swap discs and so on, it’s usually for more than one game and I did not want to go to the trouble.

Looking forward to this game!

The game was made using Nintendo’s arcade board which makes porting this to Nintendo’s rivals highly unlikely.

Another fix that would be great is the Yatterman color crap.

Doronjo/Yatterman is my main team, but he’s totally screwed up when he’s blue. The firebreath super is nearly useless with Yatterpelican. I can’t have an honest mirror match against another Yatterman player with the current build.

Online would be… ok, but realistically we’re talking about a Wii game. The online is going to be garbage if it’s even implemented. Friend codes, anyone?

New characters could be fun. It’s nice that 3/4 console only characters actually get some real play. Maybe we’ll get lucky with 3 or 4 more good characters for the US release.

While I shouldn’t talk since I just got 3rd in a tourney where Karas/Ryu teams got 1st and 2nd, I don’t think Karas is “broken” like many have said. He’s got some good ground combos, but he has crap defense and doesn’t have much in the air. He’s a great character and probably top tier, but he’s not unbeatable. They don’t really need to change him at all. The biggest reason why he dominates the discussion is that he’s the most popular Tatsunoko character of the bunch in the US. Therefore, more people play him and have learned more of his stuff.

If you look at videos online from yourmother, Keits, and some others (not to mention the plethora of Japanese vids), you’ll see that characters other than Karas and Ryu are not only playable, but genuinely good. Honestly, I’m more afraid of a good Roll/Casshan or Doronjo/Souki than a random Karas/Ryu.

Not necessarily.

When you see ports between PS2 <-> Wii, it usually is the case of a PS2 game being “upscaled” for the Wii’s purposes. The other way around (a Wii game constructed on the Wii natively) would probably not work nearly as well.

I’m sure we remember the likes of RE4 PS2, and how that compared to the GC version. A PS2 port of TvC would likely need at least a few adjustments to be made possible (since TvC is a game constructed on Wii technology), and by that point, it likely wouldn’t be “arcade perfect”, any more.

For right now, there’s nothing to point to that MvC3 is even in the works right now. The deal that allowed for MvC2 to be released is only good for that, specifically. A whole new arrangement would need to be in place for MvC3 to happen any time soon.

Furthermore…

If ^THAT^ is to be an indicator of anything, this could stand to be a MUCH larger thing than people may think…

An epic three-way between Marvel, Tatsunoko and Capcom, for a VS game? I could go for that.
