Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the US

By removing the soundtrack you mean they’re gonna have the same kind of music as in mvc2?

I don’t feel like my buzz has been killed in the slightest… In fact, with the promise of five new characters and possibly online play I feel more buzz then for the original!

They’re removing one character who barely anyone cared about and who most people thought was a blight to the roster, and promising to add some new members to the cast to compensate. It seems pretty fair to me. As for the music, I’ll miss the cheesyness of character themes playing on the switch, but I didn’t actually really like a lot of the old character themes to begin with. Most of them sounded a bit flat (Tatsunoko side mainly) blasphemy

well I hope that they at least make descent music for the stages. Let’s not have a repeat of mvc2’s lame jazzy music.

The music we’ve heard so far sounds more techno/rave-ish rather than jazzy, which is absolutely fine by me.

LOL at the balance tweaks in the evo build of TvC1.5. Lightan, worst character in the game, got worse… and PTX, who won both singles and doubles, got buffed.

AAAAHHH

you better shut your fucking mouth

Capcom needs to put Maple Syrup to make that Waffle Top Tier

Lightan didn’t get made worse…

He now has a full-screen answer to lariat pressure in 22C and can combo into his launcher. Sure his jabs got more pushback but that’s not really a huge deal.

PTX’s rockets and Megacrash grab combos got nerfed despite the huge buffs.

What’s more distressing is Saki getting buffed. EH…

its a fact, not a lot of people like the music from mvc2. its a great game, just bad choice of music.

it is empirically good music and sorry to tell you nartuoguy, but you’re wrong

Yeah the music in MvC2 is good.

waits for furry’s law to kick in and smirks all smartass-like

yeah heh

The game changes surprise me. Mostly because the developers decided to change EVERYTHING. I can see why they might add some cooldown time to Karas’ moves, or take away Chun’s infinite. But damn, they just upended the entire engine by changing the falling speed, reducing baroque damage, and lots of the other stuff that people listed.

I think the game was pretty solid as it was, aside from the character-specific brokenness. Not that I disagree with their changes–because, obviously, I can’t tell if they’re good or not–but this sounds like TvC2, not a Japanese import of TvC.

Pretty sure it’s mainly due to licensing, and just that.

Lightan is mostly the same except no MC grabs and jabs push away more. He just needs a double jump or be able to cancel out of his dash like ptx to reach them harder characters (i.e V.Joe).

22C is still slow as hell and won’t be able to punish anything. 2B>5C>3C>Gold Kick… now that’s a punish!

well, whatever.

Lightan’s megacrash grabs weren’t all that great though, due to the angle the opponent was sent off at. Most could use specials to avoid taking any damage. I don’t think he’ll really miss those.

And yeah I kind of figured 22C would be too slow, but at least it’s still full screen. I was sort of hoping that the A version would be fast enough to at least discourage tekkaman from whipping all day.

hm. I didnt know that. I normally don’t use big characters.

The most important thing to remember is that now with all the infinites gone, the Giants are no longer fragile as they once were. :> I see both of them being much more useful now (especially PTX)
