Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the US

Remember people he said THINK, not IS. Just saying it for clarification I know someone will misread this.

They took out batsu’s infinite. that’s for starters.

Was BlazBlue or KOF XII at E3?

Why do people keep talking about taking out the infinites. That would be a) near impossible and b) make it a completely different game. Infinites exist for a lot of the characters in the game, and they can use them as a tool for punishing you much in the way that regular combos punish you in a lot of games. If you use an infinite, you’re usually relegating yourself to a little less damage than some characters’ high damage output combos, but you’re also forcing the opponent to burn their meter, so if you’re going to finish a character off, you don’t use your infinite generally. It’s a strategic tool and, if you notice, the characters who have inifnites generally really need them. If karas didn’t have infinites, he would be crap. His normal combo strings do middling damage, he has good range but next to no mixups, and he dies like a horrible bitch, he needs his infinites to control the flow of the match. On the other hand, someone like Ryu, who is just a strong character all around, never uses infinites.

Also no, the jp version is not broken as fuck, there are only a couple glitches which even have a noticable effect on the gameplay, being the OTG infinites glitch (which happens in very very strange situations so it’s not that strange that it made it in), and the aspect ratio difference, which can be solved by setting a standard aspect ratio. It also has fairly good balance, as I’ve been saying for a while now, which Americans also don’t seem to realize/care about.

It’d be easy to take out the inifinites. Just increase the Y velocity of the hit a bit on an airborn opponent. There. No more infinite. They’ll be able to block it.

My gripe about infinites in this game is that they do force you to take up 2 meters and a good chunk of life to get out of them. They’re not just ‘longer’ combos. A very damaging B&B from Polymar is not going to kill you if you don’t megacrash it and lose two of your stocks. It’s just going to hurt you a lot. With an infinite, there’s no end in sight and if you don’t want to megacrash to get out (which basiclly means you’re dead on the next hit if you don’t somehow manage to get that meter back, and your opponent will have MC to beat your next combo thanks to their infinite) then you’re screwed. Infinites are an imperfection in the game’s design and should be weeded out where possible.

And Karas has plenty of stuff he can do even without the infinite. He can still carry the opponent to the corner easily and do very long damaging mega crash baroque combos there.

infinites aren’t too much a problem, but Karas’ slide infinite is. moving you to the corner free like that is not something he needs at all, and the scaling on that infinite simply isnt as sharp as it needs to be.

What I’m trying to say is that when the ps2 version of mvc2 fixed glitches, did they use it? NO, they used the dreamcast cause it was arcade perfect. When the GC and XBOX versions of cvs2 fixed glitches, specifically roll-canceling, it was no longer arcade perfect, hence go back to the ps2 version which is. History repeats itself.

Again, no.

A port of the same game with small changes during an era in which ‘arcade’ was the standard … vs… A new VERSION of the game, not a port of the same one, in an era in which console is the standard.

The DC version of MvC2 is not arcade perfect.

Dr. B is arcade perfect all the time.

XII was, BlazBlue wasn’t.

Apparently the critics have pegged TvC as the best fighter of E3.

Wow, it’s like KoF and Tekken never had a chance.

I wonder if the “newer” version will be show at Evo? I know S-kill has big plans for it at SDCC. The Anime nerds are gonna gobile it up.

Oh? Is it confirmed that it’s gonna have some stuff at Comic Con?

For anybody who’s interested in this game, I’m turning my youtube into a TvC resource. It’s not done yet, but I’m working on compiling playlists of good matches for each character, along with doing commentary on some matches, and pulling tutorials and stuff together into one place. Find it here:

Click on playlists for the long list with all the character specifics.

Have you finished any commentary yet, or is that still to come? I’d love that, makes it easier to appreciate a match in a game you’re not all that knowledgable about.

Great new game comign to the US? Awesome!

Game coming out exclusively on a shitty console thus forcing you to buy yet another stick? Lame.

Looks like I’m missing out on TvC.

Dj vu :looney:

What I mean is, I’ve seen this a lot and the answer is a simple, cheap converter and you can use your ps2 stick.

Jesus christ buy a 12 dollar converter for your ps2 stick.

Has anyone played this using the classic controller? Does it control especially bad with it or would I be fine using it?

wow nice channel, yourmother
