Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the US

Also, on the PS3/360 Tatsu would have to compete with both BlazBlue and KOFXII which are also upcoming. And Tekken 6…? And Marvel, don’t forget Marvel.
Of course there are lots of PS3/360 owners here on this board that wants this game, but I don’t think this group represents the overall player base very well.

I seriously doubt people besides the vets and older players will be concerned with MvC2. Once the scrubs get on and get raped with their low/garbage tier teams, they’ll go back to scrubbing it up in SF4.

Who does represent the overall player base very well? I personally think its the people who knew and liked this game while it was still NTSC-J exclusive, and they already imported and modded for this game, so I don’t really see anyone else getting this port.

That clearly wasn’t meant as a litteral “all”, but did you misinterperet this sentence?

Why would I say at least half if I meant all? I would just have consistently said all.

If the game is marketed in NA well enough, it can succeed. Capcom just has to be smart. Ads and commercials (yes, there really should be commercials) should remind people that Ken is the dude from Gatchaman/G-Force, and don’t forget SPACE LANCE! Along with all of the Capcom characters.

Dr. B markets himself with an absurd amount of skill. He’s more well known than Mickey Mouse in households that are in the “know.”

TvC should’ve had Ken.

…and by that I mean SF Ken.

Flaming Uppercut would sell millions.

I’m well aware of that, if this is capcom just trying to provide a game for the america fan base then more power to them. Other wise is point less for them to go in half cocked.

They’ve already spent the cash on licensing which everyone thought would be the biggest problem and most expensive. There adding online play, why not spend the extra money and possibly have a much bigger turn out.

But really, your right, most people arent going to know who any of those characters are. Heck I only know the g-force but the fact that its a VS game means it will move "some"units in the US. Which i think capcom knows and its the reason its coming to the states at all.

While I assume they number crunched, and the cost of porting it to the ps3 or xbox just is worth the risk. I guess mvc2 is the VS of the year to make $ for the ps3/xbox. Which is prob part of the reason its not getting a port.

Seth K. gets interviewed.

And we have a new character select theme?

In that match video you can already see a few changes. New HUD, a couple new animations (see Ryu getting hit by Casshern’s denkou punch), and some potential balance updates, although they’re pretty slight if they’re there at all although I think I caught a couple in this video and one other one.

TvC and No More Heroes 2 are the only things keeping me from selling my damn Wii.

They have up to December to spice this up. More characters nao!

On a related note, notice how in the interview, Seth says how they managed to bring the game home?

i think the music is different, it didnt change when u switch to characters
i do see more faster speed gameplay , but maybe im just seeing things…

It’s a remixed version of the character select music (wonder if there will be other remixed tracks). I think they’re playing it over the normal gameplay music just to show it off.

FYI, I reserved Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars today at my work (Gamestop).

Ship date is 1/26/2010.

Whoa, so it’s not Q4?

Isn’t January still Q4?

Fix the shitty controls and add custom soundtrack/color outfits I might rebuy this game.

Until Capcom officially announces it Gamestop’s tentative release date means nothing. Although this is probably right. By S-Kill saying “winter” that leaves the window open until then…

I immediately assumed 2010 when he said “winter”. No company ever says “winter” without meaning next year. Although I hope I’m wrong. :bgrin:

So I heard Capcom’s press release regarding TvC has Daimaou being replaced by another Tatsu character, +4 more characters, 2 from each side, as well as online.

Source or link? Daimao getting the axe isn’t a surprise, and I’m wondering who the four additions are. If online’s true as well, even better (although then there goes the resale value of my import copy :wasted:).
