yes!
Sick, after spending about 10 posts telling people to wait, Stuart finally gives us his praise to buy sticks/accessories for something we already knew.
Thanks Stuart, no wonder you are TvC legend :lovin::lovin:
Does anyone make custom Wii sticks? (EDIT - or custom GC sticks) I really want a stick with Happ parts. I suppose I could get a PS2 stick along with a GCN converter (TvC supports GC pads, right?). Do converters add lag?
You know doesn’t lag when it comes to showcasing greatness? Dr. B.
LOL to those who don’t know all the facts before insulting other members. At least wait a little bit before committing to an insult.
Arcade sticks are not cheap, unless they’re crap and then you’re better of with a pad. This from someone who went through two “oh it’s so cheap, it might be good”(We’re talking things like this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41x8LESsUZL.SL160.jpg :wtf:) before getting high quality parts and building my own. The difference is very noticeable.
There is a Wii arcade stick from Hori that I’ve seen in some shops. Not top of the line parts, but I hear those Hori stock parts isn’t all that bad. I’ve seen it at like 50-60$/Euro/500-600 kronor.
Also, if you’re gonna use a pad on the Wii… The Classic controller has a really nice d-pad. One of the best I’ve used. I’ve played Guilty Gear: AC with it when I visit my brother, and it works great.
gamespot has confirmed that there will be a european release
but its still a wii exclusive
I wanted to import this so badly when it came out but didn’t want to deal with the ha$$les…
…soooo psyched if it comes here in its full glory, not some dumbed down missing characters shit.
Got 2 Wii Hori sticks for $15 & $22 brand new on Ebay a while back for Guilty and SamSho, almost done modding them. Stock they are really nice.
Yup.
I see what you did there. :encore:
Now I’m really mad this is on the wii. At first I didn’t really care that it was on the wii because I figured there was no way that this was coming out in the US. Now that it is though, I;m pissed. Why the fuck is this on the gotdamn wii? WTF was they thinking?
Wii is the top selling console in the US and Japan. Capcom likes money, therefore, they released said game on the top selling system. In addition the game is on a Wii-based arcade board, so the conversion is quick and easy.
Just because you don’t like it being on the wii doesn’t mean it isn’t good business sense.
^This
Still sucks though, we PS3 and 360 owners don’t get it. I’ll Buy a Wii and TvC if the online play is good enough.
Picking this up day one. I was so excited when I read that it was coming to NA. Praying for this: Online Play.
If there’s no online play, it’s going to hurt.
i use to cringe at people always being like, online play, online play, online play, online play, but i guess since the demand is getting higher, maybe they can move even more forward in making online play the best it can be. offline is still where its at.
This makes sense in theory. But how well did TvC actually do in Japan? About 100,000K? That’s pretty decent for (a fighting game in) Japan, but how well will it do outside of Japan? We’ll have to wait and see on that.
I guess the real question is: If putting TvC on the Wii was Capcom’s best bet for making the most money (well, profit actually), why didn’t they put SFIV on the Wii?
Putting out a brand new game, budget priced, on the PS2 nowadays would be retarded for Capcom.
All this and yet capcom does not give a crap enough about the Wii to even bother releasing SFIV on it…hmmmm.
Kinda kills your argument there. I’m with the others on this one, give us a 360/PS3 port. To hell with nintendo’s sub-standard novelty gimmick console.
Capcom is more likely to lose money by having to port the game to entirely different hardware (development costs) rather then doing a localization with new GUI…the localization would obviously less costly to produce then having to totally retool the game on completely different hardware.
Sure it would be nice to have the game on the 360 or PS3, but I’m not so unrealistic to think Capcom would do the most effective means to release the title at the lowest possible cost. In that sense, a Wii release would be more potentially more profitable for them, especially considering the fact that the Arcade version is already effectively running on Wii-based hardware to begin with.
Capcom’s already risking enough money bringing this game over as it is thanks to the obscurity of the Tatsunoko characters. A 360 or PS3 port would be even more money down the drain, with no guarantees that there would be enough sales to cover the posts of porting the game.
It’s smarter business sense for Capcom to minimize their costs by translating the game they’ve got rather than sink much more money into porting the game on other consoles on the off-chance that there might be enough sales from the ports to break even.
EDIT: outsponded by OmegaDL50.
I would just get a GC adapter for your ps2 stick. There shouldnt be any lag issues involved. I use the Cube Joybox Pro and havent experienced any. Check this thread for more info: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=181187
^ Posted before I saw your post. I had no PS2 stick, but no worries; I’ll have one soon. :bgrin:
Because I’ve been wanting a DC and PS2/3 stick anyway, I just ordered an X-Arcade Dual (they’re only $129.99 US now) with the GC, DC, and PS adaptors. About $200 US. I’m all set for this and some Project Justice. :badboy:
EDIT - The Duals are out of stock but mine is set to arrive on June 21. One month isn’t bad; I need to get a table for that beast anyway. Just thought I’d let anyone looking for an X-Arcade Dual know.
If Dr. B was in Project Justice he’d “Raging B” Demon Hyo and take his place, but Dr. B would be impossible to beat, just like real life.
