Tatsunoko Stick for Wii?

Would it be possible to mod a classic controller into an arcade stick?

I want one for TvsC, but the Hori controllers are hard to find.

you can hack a gamecube controller to use in an arcade stick

hori sticks are like 30 bux on ebay shipped

yes, it’s possible

you can also hack a cube controller

take your pick

or you can hack a ps1 controller and use a playstation to gamecube converter to play tvc.

In the event that you’re still looking for a Hori stick for the Wii, here are some options for you.

(This is what I’m using. I purchased 2 of them. One has an HRAP2SA connected up and the other a MAS stick. This way you have more options for which arcade stick you would like to use.

On a side note, I’ve heard bad things about the Exar stick, haven’t used it myself but just letting you know. Some people say they feel cheap and give out

I think I’ll go with hacking a gamecube controller. Does anyone have pictures of gamecube controller guts? Will I just need to solder wires to grounds and such?

I don’t think it is possible. For some reason, when i plug my PSX arcade stick into a ps2/gamecube controller converter, the Wii doesn’t recognize it. But when I plug a Dualshock 2 in the same way, I get a connection.

Total bummer, because I don’t own PS2 sticks, plus PSX sticks are awesome… :shake:

What converter are you using?

You know, while we’re on the topic of Wii compatible sticks, anybody know what the tournament standard controller for fighters will become? Will it be Classic Controllers hooked up to presynched Wiimotes or Gamecube controllers? I’m thinking latter, but I’m not 100% sure.

You know, I recommend the ToToTek GC Keyboard Converter 2in1. Not many people know about it, but it’s a PS2 to GC converter that also converts PS/2 keyboards to a signal the Gamecube can read for games like PSO. Granted, the PS2 aspect is what you’re wanting, so I’ll let you know right now that it seems to have absolutely no trouble converting both digital and analog PCBs. I use it with my HRAP2:SA for Soul Calibur II and plenty of my friends use it for their PSX controllers, ranging from the original PS1 Digital Pad to random 3rd party stuff. I don’t know if it’s 100% lagless since I have no way to test it, but from my experiences, it drops no inputs and (to me at least) I don’t experience any input lag. I’d say it’s pretty good for $17.99 plus shipping.

Im don’t think there is a name on them, but they work with xbox as well. I remember using them for my PSX dance pads on Mario Mix for the cube… so they should work, unless there is something in the Wii’s Cube ports that’s making them act wonky.

I think thats true because I have the same problem with my HRAP1 stick. PS2 controllers work fine, but none of the HRAPs do.

I believe that HRAP uses PS1 non-analog PCBs whereas PS2 pads work because they have analog. It’s just a theory, though.

is this the one you have?

I got this and a another one, should be coming in the next few days I’ll test them see how good they are.

lol, yeah. Those are the ones I have. I don’t think they work with PSX controllers on the Wii. When I get home, I’m going to try them on the Gamecube just to make sure…

What about the Exar stick?
Ive seen it only from pictures and personally I think it looks like shit

Can anyone confirm this?

markman said it was garbage basicly.

onto his first question, has anyone hack the classic controller pcb yet? if so, can we get some pic. i ask bc i have 4 classic controller and want to put use in it.

I have a HRAP 3 with a PSX PCB and works perfectly with Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom.
I use this adapter.

I’m using the old Capcom Fighting Evolution HRAP… stock except for the Sanwa color replacement. Anyone know if either of these will work? (It’s the only place I can find something in stock… that’s reasonable).
