Taskmaster is HORRIBLE as a 3rd. He is one of those characters that have to have an assist to get anything done.
Does anyone else agree that Jill B is a great assist with Taskmaster? Pick it up with dash H into swing for a stupid easy pickup into retarded damage off an assist. Haven’t actually used it in a match so I don’t know if how easy it is to hit with. Also I REALLY don’t like Jill’s DHC but if you played Jill on point/Task second I think you could do some big damage with the DHC glitch.
Also Jill B lets you do a variation of the assist combo I posted earlier that Combofiend was also using.

Newcomer?s Team Assessment Questionnaire
-
Who characters and teams will you use (in order of selection)?
Wesker or Task, it’s pretty ambiguous. I like Wesker for my battery, I don’t explicitly use many hypers with him. -
What type of game-play strategy are you pursuing with this team? (Explain)
Combo oriented rushdown team. All 3 have a projectile that is good for a mediocre keepaway, basically just waiting for an opening to happen. -
What advantages does your point (first selected) character have?
Weskers teleports, crazy damage, and best OTG assist in the game
What disadvantages does your point character have?
Can have some zoning/opening problems with the assists I have selected.
What maneuverability options does your point character have?
Teleports and wavedashes
How will your assists aid your point character?
I use magnetos Hyper Gravity to hold up chars. after OTG and H. Arrows from task to help pressure.
- What advantages does your secondary character have?
Old Tasky has some of the best BnB combos and great, if not the best normals. His arrows are great for a variety of specials, and he has counters.
What disadvantages does your secondary character have?
Sometimes a bit to slow I suppose, a pretty all around character. Often described as a slightly lesser Mags
What maneuverability options does your secondary character have?
Spidey swing and shield charge, plus wave dashing.
How will your assists aid your secondary character?
I actually use both weskers OTG assist and Mags hyper gravity to hold after tasks otg to chain a huge 1 meter ~800,000 combo that also DHC’s to mags shockwave.
- What advantages does your last character have?
Best 1 dimensional zoning tool in the game, plenty of tricks, flight, and air dash cancellable normals in the air.
What disadvantages does your secondary character have?
Some punishable normals, such as his launcher, and same as the others, forcing openings. This is eased with weskers low assist.
What maneuverability options does your last character have?
Flight, and 8 way air dash for tri and square jumps.
How will your assists aid your last character?
Weskers OTG for relaunch and Tasks arrows for pressure
-
What kind of Delayed Hyper Combo opportunities do you think your team will have?
A variety. If task finishes with his vertical OTG arrow hyper, Mags can shockwave OTG as well, which sets up for weskers maximum wesker. They can also both very comfortablly DHC into gravity squeeze if I have the meter. -
What type of impact will your Team Hyper Combo have on your opponent (Explain)?
I’ve got two that spread forward and one that covers full screen. Functions well enough at a range, and there is no space uncovered, but upclose does considerably more damage. The team was designed more for DHC then THC. -
What are some of the weaknesses of your team?
Haven’t used enough to know. Players better than me? -
After filling out this questionnaire, are you still comfortable with your team?
Absolutely! this team feels super solid, and I reccomend it to anyone interested in these characters.
I agree, he should always be on point or in the middle.
I can’t agree with terrible (arrows with L3 Xfactor are simply offensive, and pseudo confirm into arrow super for nearly entire health bars full screen), but there are better.
Honestly I like the arrows as an assist enough to keep Task in the third position. But, my team is also very DHC friendly + builds meter quickly, so it is rare that Task is my actual last member, so that might not count.
I played 7 matches last night, and yeah, I think I’ll try changing my order to Taskmaster/Dormammu/Shuma-Gorath, but I’m not sure I like Shuma as an anchor.
No one is bad with level 3 x-factor. But what are you going to do when it runs out? If the opponent is smart, then they will probably run away from x-factor with super-jumps, which puts you in a tasky dead-zone.
I agree, mostly in the sense that I can’t think of a team that wouldn’t simply be better by having Taskmaster in 1st/2nd rather than 3rd. Even if your plan is to DHC/juggle to him, if you don’t land that combo before losing your first two characters, you ruin your xfactor comeback potential.
Chris/Haggar/Taskmaster
Out of the three characters, Taskmaster is the most capable of handling himself. Chris is pretty much all zoning, and Haggar is pretty much all rushdown. Task is capable of both, buuuut definitely more towards rushdown. All you really need is that one solid hit and they’re getting a nice chunk taken if not then a full combo to death. And you have like, 20 seconds to make that opportunity. If you don’t, then you still have vanilla Taskmaster, easily capable of over 700k a combo (shoutout to Spooty)
Yeah, I hear you there. 1v1 he’s fine, but if he ends up 2v1 or worse with no assist it’s pretty bad.
anyone suggest characters that can extend a combo after tasks otg arrows? also i saw that kurasa vs dan vid posted on this thread and what does task do after the opponent gets hit by the drones? i couldnt see too well because of the explosions
I dont know about midscreen but corner you can use like half the cast.
You can continue from his Air Legion Arrows +:h: with a DHC as long as it hits OTG.
I tried doing an arrow lift combo with Haggar’s Lariat. The Lariat lands but all I could get afterwards was just st.h or a spidey swing. After that the hit stun decay was too much.
So I’ve read in about 20 different places that Shuma is awesome with Taskmaster? As a person who took a three week break and isn’t really in the loop anymore, what is so good about this combination?
Ha, i think every Shuma fan says he is awesome with everyone lol. I could be wrong, but Shumas eye laser assist doesnt seem to give much benefit besides OTG. It comes out slow and does no damage, especially at full screen.
Try asking in the Shuma forums? Maybe someone there might have the answer you seek.
It hits EVERYWHERE. Sure the damage isn’t great, but it does just enough to stop your opponent from getting in, or to help pin down that runaway opponent.
Running Task A Storm A Doom B now. I can see why alot of ppl use Storm with Tasky, she can help him zone with whirlwind and you can get creative with his assists for her, plus they do DHC very well
Plus, both Shuma and him build meter really well, add Phoenix onto that team and you’ll never worry about having meter.
