Cat paunch!
hey do you know any tips on how to land the taunt combo more consistantly? i keep pressing b after 2d to quickly and it cancels it before it hits the person.
tips…uhh…just do it a bit slower…i had the same problem as you and just slowed down the 2d~b part.
when doing the 2d~b part, if you jump too low, tao will whiff the 2d hit, if you go to high she will take too long to hit the opponent.
practice doing 2d~b without doing any of the combo. if you do it correctly you will see tao hit the opponent and land right next to them…if done wrong either she will just go through the opponent (she will not hit the opponent) if you jumped too high, or she will land right next too them without hitting them.
also if you have the extra dvd content, it shows you an example of a simple taunt combo…at first i didnt understand what the heck but then after watching it more closely i figured it out…its actually not that hard jjejeje…but i dont think ill be using this combo for a tourney jejejeje
hope this helps a bit
Hey just got this in day or two ago and immediately picked up Taokaka [Originally wanted Arakune but didn’t like the feel]
I was lookin through the thread about the DVD that comes with the LE and someone said Tao’s combo vid etc. wasn’t THAT useful don’t quote me but lol
Would you fellow players recommend still givin it a couple watches for a noob like myself?
-I dont even like that cats but this cat girl is pretty ish :lovin: -
Debating if I wanna jump online just yet. but if any body has time to spar in here let me know or add me on PSN.

Eh, 2D9 works easier for me.
Having a problem with 4b+c, 236cc, 2d~9, j.c, 9d~9, j.c, 9d~9, j.c, 236bbb
Specifically, I can’t connect the 3rd drive. I whiff below the character :X Am I supposed to delay the last drive, or in any location of the combo in order to get it to connect?
I also read somewhere that the timing of 236cc may have some effect on the angle and thus the combo, if that is the case are there any tips on the timing there?
Should look like this.
4b+c -> 236cc -> 2d~9 -> j.c -> 9d -> j.c -> 9d -> 236bbbb
You can’t do the j.c after the last 9d. As for hitting it, it’s just practice and timing. Took me a few minutes in training to get it right. Just remember to keep holding 9 after you hit or you’ll bounce away and the 236b won’t hit. Also you can alternately do 236bb -> 236bbbb if you want.
^Does that do more damage than just doing j.c’s after the D?
Do any of you know why this combo sometimes wont connect at the j.c -> 9d -> 236bbbb point? the 9d wont connect sometimes like on jin. is their a timing issue i need to worry about?
4b+c -> 236cc -> 2d~9 -> j.c -> 9d -> 236bb -> j.c -> 9d -> 236bbbb
(any combo that leads into this) 6D ~ 6, J.C, (J.A, J.C) x2, 236BBB
I can never get that A to come out. It just doesn’t happen. I’ve tried to buff it, I’ve tried to jump after the J.C, and I’ve tried to mash A into oblivion and try to land it on a fluke. I got nothin’
Any suggestions?
I’ve been having a lot of trouble against Jin does anyone have tips for beating him?
can someone tell me what j.2d~b means? its used as a taunt setup but i dont understand the b.
back?
nuetral b?
bob hope?
Cancel your Jumping down drive using B to pass through the opponent.
On this note, what’s the timing on hitting while pressing b to cancel the drive?
I see it all the time in the best play videos, and I feel like I really need to use it to stay close, but I often miss hitting and instead just pass through, rather than hitting and then passing through
I had the same problem but i am getting much more consistent. just spend alot of time on that one part in training mode
Yay progress!
I thought I would be without a character in this game til I was more comfortable with the game in general but I found Tao :D. Although I can’t do many of her combos just yet, I got down 3 BnBs (I think they are her BnBs).
As soon as you see the claw animation and hear the sound of the scratching.
For the j.2d~b, you wanna delay a little bit longer than you would think.
I would like to know how to properly connect this combo too
Saw this on the bonus dvd that came with the LE and got stuck on that same part.
The frame window to land the B cancel is roughly 2-4 frames, so it’ll come with practice. You have to press the B cancel right as you hit your opponent. If you press it too early, you’ll wiff. If you press it too late, you’ll just smack your opponent.
If you consistently miss it, then stop and rethink when you need to hit it. You have to pay careful attention to the angle and timing of your 2d in order to land the B cancel. If you jump too high, then your opponent will recover. If you don’t jump high enough, you’ll wiff.
The ideal spot to hit your 2d is to be right next to your opponent…
What I like to do is jump back a little bit to give me a larger frame window to hit my opponent (unless they have a tiny hit box).
IB the drive and dash in with 5b. If they like to spam the 2d, then triple jump to bait the drive spam so you can finish it with a j.c.
And if you feel up for it, then hexa edge to punish.
Crawl a lot. Seriously, you pass through 90% of his move set.
