just to confirm. for her 3d9 > (j.c > 9d9) do I just hold 9 throughout or do i have to repress 9 for the j.c?
IIRC if you hit them with it and cancel it with a, you can do another drive/hit/whatever.
And ya you just hold 9 throughout the loop Syllable.
Im wondering how often you guys try to get off |combo > 6a > (j.a > j.c) x3 > 236bbb?| often, should I be using this? its a pretty simple combo so i can do it, but I don’t want to get reliant on it if its terrible.
I’ve found that, while playing Tao, you should never rely on just one or two combos (this is something I’m really struggling with). You should really practice her other two basic drive loops (which will do more damage I believe) as well as keeping that combo up.
The minute you start to become predictable with Tao is the minute you get heavily punished in my experience.
This combo (no offense) seems like the “poor man’s” or “beginner’s” combo with Tao. I used the same thing when I started, and it works for a little bit, but given how little damage it really does (1.4-1.8k IIRC) for 12 hits, it’s not something to keep using for too long. However, it’s a good starting point, and I’m not trying to take anything away from you.
Den make dat DJ fool copy paste dem combos from muffuggin’ dustloop. Damn.
|| Taokaka || SUPER SERIOUS ALL THE TIME THEAD
Wow I didn’t remember it being that shitty, I never use it anymore.
Pelvic - Yeah, when I first landed it, I thought it was pretty beast…then I learned that 2k was normal, and I cried a little inside.
Then I learned how to (j.c, jd~6)x3, and life’s been good since.
Yeah definitely, gotta spend some quality time in training mode soon though to get down the more technical cawmbos
That’s the combo that I have randomly miss on me. The j.c will hit but the drive will just flat out miss sometimes. On any character by the way. Any idea why this is?
figured. I can do the drive loop off like 70% now so I will probably slowly phase myself out of that. But for some reason or another, I can’t get 3d9 to hit after a 6a(2) constantly.
Or i can try to master this:
6A -> JC -> j.5D~B (land) -> taunt -> 236CC -> 2D (air combo)
ps
Can anyone get the last part of this combo to work?
6c -> 236cc -> 2d~6 -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.236bb -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.236bbb
The last combo is easiest on Tager, so practice it on him first. Once you get the timing down, try it on the other characters. You want the last j. c to hit a little bit under their body so that the 8d~6 can connect.
Haha, that’d be an odd thread name seeing as how Taokaka is serious just about ZERO percent of the time
[/derail]
Pelvic - Yeah, it’s that bad. My first couple of matches after it came out, I did it, looked at the damage, and thought “wow, there’s gotta be better”. Most likely due to the massive proration from doing 3 A-type hits in a row (6a x2, j.a).
- Make sure you’re holding forward the whole time.
- Some characters can only take 2 loops before it drops them.
- Timing, timing, timing.
- You didn’t eat enough steamed buns before the match.
Now that’s a good thread title! Mods make it happen
git dem steamed buns son!
I should hopefully have a couple match videos of me absolutely destroying a nu today… so I’m looking forward to getting some critiques.
Kind of off topic… what the hell are steamed buns and meat buns?
EDIT: Googled it, basically round egg rolls.
Alright so I found another combo that I’ve been using lately to confirm into horizontal drive loop. The idea came from this combo from dustloop.
5b --> 3c --> 5d~b --> 5b --> 5c --> 2d~9 --> vertical drive loop + ender.
So the timing for the 5d~b is slower than the timing from the 5b --> 6a --> j. 2d~b. However, seems like that they can’t tech right away after the third hit of the 3c. So I got this instead.
5b --> 3c --> 5d~b(whiff) --> 5b --> 5c --> 2d --> 6d~6 --> horizontal drive loop plus ender.
vs. Noel, you have to delay the 6d~6 so that she stays at the correct hight to connect the next 6d~6 after the j. c in the horizontal loop.
The timing on Rachel is too strict for practical use so stick to vertical loops on her imo.
Does anyone have a concrete list of like 4 bnb combos that range from low damage to high damage that I can work at? Dustloop seems to have a lot of combos that seem to defy the games system(such as jump loops that go over 3 times??).
I think I’m settling in on Tao so I’m looking to get a couple of combos down.
Can someone chime in on this please?
Sorry for the self quote.
I don’t have a six button stick, but if I did I’d probably go with
A.B.C
D.X.T
that way you won’t hit it by accident, but you can still hit it easily
