Reposting this since weāre doing our second week of this tomorrow night. Same time, same location
We had ~15ish people, 4 setups, and 4 games being played last week (mvc3, ssf4, mk, and a little mvc2), hoping to have more of everything this week. Casual stuff, no venue fees or anything. If you havenāt been to livingstonās, youāre missing out, the place is awesome. Bar, arcade, good prizes for tickets won from the arcade machines, gokarts, laser tag, and a fighting game section on wednesdays now
Iām not sure about this week but Iāll try to make it to one of these in the future. Howāsthe MK scene over there (or the scene in general for that matter?)
The scene in general is still kinda new/small considering we just started doing these gatherings a week ago. Like I said, last week was about 15 people throughout the evening across various skill levels and games. Iāll have a more solid answer to that question a few weeks down the road probably when we see who shows up as word spreads to friends, and who keeps coming back, etc. As for MK, again I really have no idea, last week when we did this, MK had officially been out for all of a day. We had one MK setup, and it looked like basically everyone was on it at one point or another, at least to try out the game if they hadnāt bought it yet.
Anyway, we had a pretty strong start last week, and Mike, who organized the whole deal with the venue and all, seems like heās got things pretty well planned to grow larger as time goes on.
Hi. Iām relatively new to the fighting game scene (started ~6 months ago). A friend and I have been playing SSF4 and weāre looking to take up MK9 and MvC3 as well. Are there any weekly meetups? Any other USF people in this thread? I noticed there was a video game club at USF and they were able to procure a room but they seemed more casual-oriented.
mk9 - learning counter characters and match ups is very important and this game has some very serious mind games with characters that has over heads, Iāll be maining characters that has a high/low mix-up game.
