Man, I need to actually friend you guys on PSN. I don’t immediately think of these newfangled things. I’m always up for BB, either online or in person.
Despite getting T6 I can’t seem to peel myself away from BB and other hobbies enough to bother to learn anything about it. Lookin’ forward to SSF4 though. I know at least I won’t have to spend hours learning combos with that game. Plus, hey, it’s SF, I know most of the moves already. I just need to learn tactics which, hey, is best learned through direct experience. How convenient.
Right now I’m all caught up in the CS excitement. I can’t wait to start Gadget Fingering people.
Man with 30+ characters I just hope game is balanced well enough. Doesn’t have to be perfect… just well enough.
I know this is early, but if Makoto gets in how will her SA2 work from 3s? It can’t be an ultra because you can’t cancel into those… well mostly you can’t. It could be a super but… does that mean we should just bypass her EX moves? I’m just really interested in seeing how that will play out. Anybody have any theories? I know its early, but if Ibuki “is in the game”, it’ll be far-fetched that Makoto wouldnt be.
If Guy, Dudley, DeeJay and C.Viper are all in one game, my head is gonna fucking explode. Jay I dare you to say I wouldn’t give a game w/ those 4 in it a chance LOL
Why play a game that is slow(turd strike seemed like it was faster) paced and only 30 chracters when you can play a faster paced game with 40 characters and not to mention depth out of the yin yang. I’d like any of you to prove that SF has more depth than tekken. With walls and bound now, it is through the roof with new stuff to come up with. Everyday is a custom combo.
Now this is GuileMike(grew up playing capcom fighters) speaking here, maybe I should change my name to WangMike becuase the street fighter series in my view has taken crappy path! CvS2 and MvC2 is where they peaked out and that was the begining of this decade.
Anyway my 2 cents, I’m trying not to flame SF4 too much becuase I realize some of you guys dig it. I just think tekken is a better series now. I use to hate tekken until I learned how to play it and was always on capcoms nuts for new quality titles until now.
Hell, maybe it is a generational thing, where the older people just don’t dig the new stuff the kids are listening/playing to. I sure am not for capcom titles.
Naw its a crappy scrub friendly game. But if you are good at a crappy scrub friendly game, then you get offended when someone calls it a crappy scrub friendly game. Tekken is headed that direction to be honest. I mean its not reversal city like SF4 is but the rage system favors scrubs highly. They both have mad shitty hit boxes. I just think SF looks like crap, it always has. Third strike was drawn better and making it 2.5D only made the shitty art look worse. Tekken on the other hand is beautiful and the music is untouchable.
I will be on that shabashoo tho. I’ve wanted to play that fool for ten years. Guy too. So I gotta say as much as I think SF4 sucked, SSF4 will have 3 characters I actually want to play in it, so it will be done.
Agreed that the music in t6 is one of the best out of the games this year. i really enjoy it.
I really enjoy tekken though theres alot of crazy shit in there but its still fun as hell. Esp since now ive gotten alot better at playing it. Walls arent too big of a problem but Gargoyles perch walls are a little fucked up but besides that everything else is fine.

I’d probably feel the same way if I knew what the fuck about Tekken. I guess I just haven’t “got it” yet. Still trying to practice cause it’s fun as fuck and there are so many characters, not to mention all the good local comp.
I’m hoping some of us know we play a crappy scrub friendly game so no one gets offended :lol: Third Strike definitely looks better than SF4, updated filters a la MVC2 rerelease would look really nice on 3S.
Yeah Tekken 6 and BlazBlue’s OSTs are definitely my favorites this year. Maybe if KOF12 had more than like six songs I could say the same thing
I’m kind of an Alpha hater, ok maybe not hater but I never really got into the series so I’m not super hype about Guy/Cody/Adon specifically. I’m just hype about new characters so I’m cool with whoever.

It’s well known that personally I find Tekken to be boring. Everyone gets their own opinion, I just happen to be in the minority in this area. SFIV is 100% without question the best thing to happen to fighting games since I’ve started playing them, though. It’s brought in waaaay more people than any other game I know of (that is to say its tournament numbers rival Tekken). I do realize it is scrub friendly, but I enjoy it regardless! If James doesn’t puss out because his character(s) suck I don’t think I’ll need to play anything other than SSFIV for a long time.
agreed making the scene grow is the most important thing for the fight game community all the execution intensive etc games will come back into light. esp by the time the economy finally gets back on its feet (2012-2015 ish) For now its scrub friendly games so publishers can pay the bills.
Christ, I have some friends who worship that show. Though a lot of it is because it’s so utterly ridiculous. For some real entertainment watch it in English. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry.
you know as much as i HATE english dubs (ocean dubs are even worse) the english one for gundam wing isnt even that bad. Ill be rewatching it in jap w/english dub ofcourse. Also ive watched the ending and bits a pieces of the anime here and there when i was young but mostly for the music and mechs. Now that im a bit older im going back and learning more about the story
Agreed, hopefully the increase in popularity for fighting games will get those who really are interested in the genre into some older games. Maybe we’ll see CVS2 make a comeback? Maybe 3rd Strike will never die?
Quality over quantity. Its tried and true. I agree that sf4 has grown the community more than any other game in recent years but thats not always a good thing.
If a lot of people are playing but the games or still crap it doesnt matter if your having crappy games vs one person or twenty. If its crap its crap.
Im not saying that is the case with sf4, but just saying in general that general growth is not the best thing for games. Because like matt said the developer design games to make money and if developer notice scrubby crappy games are what appeals to the masses then you will see a string of crap games released. Because we all know it takes more time and money to test and design a great fighter than it does to just throw something together and put it out there look at what happened to arcana heart2 home release.
I like to see the community grow but I would rather have quality players added than just more. Like when you guy came along or myself for that matter. I think you guys are quality addition to the community. you strive to get better and have by leaps and bounds. I mean think back to how good you were when we first started playing against everyone to how good you are now. Not everyone has that ability. Just saying.
Ive never agreed with you more jay, but i would like to say we need more players who have the willingness to teach the newer players to get them up that level. True not many people have the ability to get that way on there own, like us persay but most definitely have the potential to do so with helpful (and accurate) guidance from an experienced vet.
Don’t know anything about Noein, and gundam wing is the tightest. I’m currently watching Gundam 00 season 1. Don’t know how I missed that but it 's gonna be pretty tight.
I will be all over SSF4 since I’ll be able to practice it. I fully expect sakura, makoto, and rose to suck but whatever I’ll still play the crap out of it and laugh when I win with crappy characters.
Makoto’s super will be sa2 because it was the only super that varied depending on the button pressed and that setup will still hold true to ssf4 (light kick on 1p side, medium kick goes half screen, and roundhouse goes full screen).
Seriously it does sound pretty tight and I’ve heard that they made everyone better instead of just nerfing a couple of people so it’ll be interesting.
New blazblue is looking pretty fun.
I’m going to say that arakune is going to be top tier but hard to use. He is still going to be gay but he’ll have to gay you like 4 times before he can kill you. I’m calling bottom of the top tiers. Don’t know jack about anyone else except tao still has taunt combos and ragna still does hellas.
Nvm I just seen the tager reset and he’s gonna be top also. That reset is looking too good. He’s turning into potemkin.
I mostly just listen to it to hear General Septum’s voice in the beginning, which always gets a rise out of me. The guy cranks it up to 11 and stays there until the moment he gets shot through the head by Lady Une in midair while falling out of an airplane.
Yeah, shit like that is why I love Wing.
I wish this so hard. Though current estimates are still planting him somewhere in mid tier. His anti-air game still isn’t as good as others, since we still seem to be relying mostly on 2A (nobody’s really figured out if there’s anything special about atomic collider yet). Though that seems to have gotten better. He dominates vs ground, of course.
