I actually do! haha
so are you saying that mike J and I have the same amount of fundamentals?

On the other hand, ST can be gimmicky as fuuuuck.
Pick guile and tick throw repeatedly on wake up. I bet I could beat either of you in ST, with just that strategy, even after telling you beforehand that is basically all I’m going to do.
Also, in practice with a somewhat mess around marvel team right now.
Pretty much. Note that I’m saying you both have a roughly equal quantity of fundamentals. The quality of them, however…
And yeah, ST does come with its own unique set of gimmicks. Tick throws, walk-under meaty c.mk from Balrog, Dhalsim shenanigans, O.Sagat, empty Blanka ball to throw, Zangief hops…the game has a lot of shit in it.
chicken wing trap, hooligan ticks, knee bash loops, Chun-li throws, blahblahblahblahblah…
Someone throw an MK tournament so’s I can get paid…I need my fight monayy!
Isn’t it easier to pick o.characters in hdr?
MikeG: what game doesn’t have tick throws? I know it’s stronger in other games, but the concept is usually there.
MK9 and SF AE will be in July. It was suppose to be in june but my tonsils are being taken out then.
Yeah, but you best not be playing HDR if this is going to be an ST battle. I’d say you guys can borrow my ps3 with final burn alpha on it but I won’t be at games tonight
Hey how is the winner decided again? Lets say it goes like this
Game Player A Player B
ST 4 5
SSF4 4 5
MVC3 5 1
Player B won two of the FT5s, but player A got more overall wins.
Player A wins
Is there a difference between ST anf HDR’s version of ST?
Yes very different. HDR is more reversal friendly and inputs are much easier. (giefs pile driver is no longer a 360 but a half circle for example). This is gonna be straight up ST. also HDR doesn’t have O.characters i believe
What you are describing is the remixed version, I’m talking about the arcade option in HDR.
'
Well sir you need to clarify your question more. Even this doesn’t make much sense. Yes HDR has Regular ST playable on it what Jarv was implying is that we were playing the Remixed version.
anyone down for games this afternoon?
I usually go to Andy’s after work and get some games in with Logan, so ask him if it’s straight.
Classic mode in HD Remix is close enough that you guys won’t notice a difference. Decided I’m going to come out tonight anyway, so I’ll have my laptop if you guys want to use it for some arcade emulation. Both options are definitely better than using the PS2/XBox Anniversary Edition port, hahaha.
Crespo: I’m down tonight, but am studying for most of today, unfortunately.
EDIT: Basically, it’s three first to fives but the winner doesn’t really mean anything because it’s best of 15 overall?
Sort of, it’s first to five to cap the wins per game and not actually used to determine.the winner. The fundamental differences for these games favor certain playstyles. This fact means just winning a game is unfair and instead a margin of winning is used. Taking from Logan’s example, let’s say the games go.
Player A - Player B
ST 5-3
SSF4 5-4
MvC3 1-5
Who would you say is better?
The one who scraped by two wins or the person who consistently played well?
I’d say the person who scraped by two wins, just because you didn’t win the first to 5 doesn’t mean both players didn’t play well. and looking at the score gap in MvC3, player A couldn’t play as consistently as Player B in that set while Player B Played almost as consistent If not as consistent as Player A in the ST set and the SSF4 set. If Player A truly deserved to win, he would have played consistently through all three sets.
Think of it as a triathalon where you have an event that you excel in and two events where you are not as good as the one. THe strategy here is to make sure that you Take you specified event and play to your best in the other events.
As Player B did
Player A because he won a FT5 in the least scrubby game.
Just want to say you guys are making this wayyy too complicated lol
