yeah ron listening for assist is the right thing to do especially in those situation i listed above. But like i said its much harder to do than just visually keying in on an assist. Cause you know everyone in this game is always screaming some random bull. Foot dive hawkeye like cap, run run run…

yeah but by the time u hear doom missiles the missiles are already out so u miss your chance to really punish since missiles will then protect the assist itself even if i fail to do so in most cases.
he saids it as he is doing the missile which defeat the purpose of punishing you for calling him. Where as using visual que u can hit him as soon as he comes out and before he actually fires the missiles.

And nah man, the cherry switches and the springs were terrible. The casing is fine. I can switch all of that out (just did). And holy damn, they fit perfectly. Actually, the holes are just a tad too big, but that’s perfectly fine. If I’m REAL lucky, I can put Arc-eyes in there and have LEDs, which would be the only American button types Ive seen ever with LEDs.
EDIT: Perfectly wasn’t entirely accurate. The cherry switches fit between the middle layer and the bottom layer, meaning to take out the faceplate, you’d have to take out the bottom panel first and detach all of the switches. This ALMOST gives me an excuse to keep a second TE base around, because once its in, its IN.
EDIT2: But you know, I COULD just cut out the section of the middle panel that has the button holes. Hell, think that it’s absolutely useless and inhibiting anyways. But that would be some real ghetto shit, and I’d like to have the either factory cut or use a template to do a modification like that.
And you don’t destroy the stick case. The hole where the JLF sits fits an IL base just fine. You warp the IL/Happ base. That part I don’t know how to do, but Ill go find a tutorial/thread on it. I’m almost determined to make a faceplate with an American layout and let you try it out.

@Chris: Yeah, you can ghetto rig the buttons in there (those terrible concave buttons), but the iL stick gets cut short by the mounting plate. Warping the base wouldn’t do much for you because it’d still stick out of the bottom of the whole stick.

Honestly…the “games are too hard” stuff is complete BS when it comes to doujin games.
From a competitive standpoint BB isn’t and hasn’t been as popular as GG was at its peak. FR had 110 people 3 years ago and 128 the year before that, I don’t know if a BB tournament has ever had over 100…maybe the pre-release Evo tournament 2-3 years ago, but that was free.
From a casual standpoint (which is and should be more important) BB is definitely more popular than GG ever was, but I attribute that to marketing…something Guilty Gear never had. Make a new GG and give it the treatment BB has received and it’ll do just as well. Granted this is anecdotal BS, but I’ve never, ever heard a non-competitive gamer say they don’t play GG because it’s too complicated. It is (was) pretty, has cool anime characters, has a story, awesome music, and you can mash out moves…the casual crowd isn’t smart enough to know I-No is nearly impossible for a human to play correctly.
Though they did tone down the SFIV AI because apparently the Japanese thought it was too hard…so maybe they’re just babies and its their fault we can’t have a new GG…
