I get that there’s a lot of silly shit that happens, but I don’t see why that has to keep you from winning and being good at this. Your Storm team was trouncing me pretty well until I picked a team that was basically a counter pick to Phoenix (Ryu). His beam super really is akin to AHVB in that things that were normally safe (fullscreen Sent calling with no cover) are definitely not, and I can chip out certain characters (Phoenix) if I burn some meter and X-Factor.
This game is going to require more time to get good at because of the big number of viable characters (see: gimmicky characters like V.Joe), but it’s still possible. Logan and Ron (probably Crespo too, but I don’t get to play him as much) beat me 8/10 times easily! You sound like a lot of people did about two weeks after the game came out. Some cared enough to keep playing, some didn’t, and the ones that did just basically learned to exploit the shit they didn’t like. They just learned to win without always feeling great about it!
Gonna’ play some MK too, but I don’t know how tournament viable it’s going to be. Hoping it is, but there just hasn’t been enough footage to give me any confidence to that. Now AE and KoFXIII on the other hand…
mk9 seems like it will be just as viable as umk3 it plays fairly close to the way that one did with a few tweek in actual gameplay.
I think kabal will be good cause he seems to have a lot of the same tools he had before that made him dominant. Full screen ground and anti air punishes that lead to damn near full combos. He already has 33 percent combo’s for no meter which is a good indication he will be doing half life punishes in no time. in addtion to it appearing that his ex run goes through projectiles. The only thing he seems to be lacking that he use to have is a 1frame jab.
Now in the old games the only one who was better than kabal was human smoke and that was purely because of damage. he hit u and damn near killed u. After the demo they suppposely toned down the damage a good deal, but not enough imo.
Oh one more thing I dont think u can lecture someone about not wanting to play a game whether its a good reason or not if they dont want to anymore then let them. From what andy is saying he is just not having enough fun or with trying to get better in the game. I would understand everyones pressure if no one else is playing, but everyone is. It’ll probably be the only real thing everyone is playing for a good lil while.

Its like you say Jay. Its more about if you have fun with the game or not. Personally Marvel is way too much of a ‘everymans’ game for my tastes, but ill still play it for the comp. Although when BBCS2, AE, KOFXIII comes out. hopefully i can put Marvel on the back burner a little bit. As i enjoy those engines way way more.
Yeah, I don’t mean to lecture, just trying to say that if you look past some of the goofy shit in the game it can be really fun and competitive. I agree that XFactor, hitboxes, and scaling are all pretty screwed in this, but I still think it requires a modicum of skill to be good at and he could play us all under the table if he gave it the old college try.
Not touching another MMO ever unless it plays like Monster Hunter or is called Diablo III (or Torchlight II if they make it not boring as fuck this time). I was thinking about Rift until I saw someone at the SLC playing it and mistook it for WoW.
@Mike: MH is pretty fun. Tri is awful though. I bought it and felt bad. The improved classic controller is nice but the online part of the game terrrrible. Why put a game like that out on the freakin’ Wii?? Capcom, please grace us with a 360 Monster Hunter game. I want to be all GURIINDINGU SUGGOIIII too!!
lmao. I too want to get on Diablo III i didnt think it was a MMO because of how diablo II was but a quick google search said D will be changed to a MMO, with 3 with 2 factions heaven and hell. Interesting, but seeing as how much attention there giving to Starcraft 2 (since its blowing the fuck up in the e-sports world) i dont know if D3 will be released anytime soon.
Diablo 3 should be out mid 2012 if I recall correctly on that Blizzard timeline that was leaked a while back. And I’m gonna guess its pretty accurate as financially for Blizzard that whole timeline looked pretty smart.

Jarv is correct. I can not play until the weekend, save a bit of time I’m going to put in to Portal 2 when I can because that’s more important that fighting games. After this week though…gonna work on leveling up my Zero, maybe giving Tallahassee a REAL Dante (that is…just do some fancy lookin’ combos), and maybe try to find a character in MK9 that isn’t boring as shit.
