No, I am not at all nervous in tournaments. I haven’t been nervous in a tournament match since FRXII. It’s all about sleep, really. I was on point at Evo and played probably the best I’ve ever played that game…and I was well rested (spent like 15 hours sleeping the day before my pools). Over the weekend at FR I spent around 10 hours sleeping, 5 of which were Saturday night. It’s a psychological thing, I’ve spent the past 15 years or so with a loud fan or air conditioner running when I go to sleep, and with the hotel not having one of those standard loud AC units I was SOL and the silence (and snoring, but that’s acceptable) were driving me insane. I was just drained and exhausted pretty much the entire weekend except when we got there, and the early hours Sunday morning. It’s a gay excuse, but whatever.
So if I looked dead/sad/depressed/whatever, that’s why. Next time I go anywhere I’m taking a damn fan. I did still manage to go 4-2 in singles, which is on par with everyone but Logan. I just happened to place lower 'cause I lost first round.
As an aside, I’m an idiot for not accepting one of Logan’s 5 hour energy shots for the tournament. I took one on the ride home so I didn’t fall asleep and leave Logan up alone driving and that shit has me GOING. I’ve been up since around 11 Saturday night and while I was nearly sleep walking waiting for Adonis to get his money (BECAUSE HE IS THE MAN) I feel fresh and good to go right now. Those things are the freakin’ truth.
Seriously, until I have do that whole “graduate and get a job” bullcrap this summer I’m going to be murdering all of you.
It was a fun tourney tally crew, I will now be spending the next few weeks in the lab and hitting you guys up for 1 on 1s from now on. So i humbly ask you to please play me in either some marvel and in super, I only want to learn to get better, so please!
oh one last note before i crash even when u guys were doing good on stream they would never give a shot out to tally it was always southeast is so strong, but when someone from like GA or bama did good hell eve VA and Tenn they would give direct shotouts but tally no I was crying laughing.

Dang FR14 was an exciting event for team tally! Looking forward to CEO 2011 in Orlando in June with a goal of placing better than 0-2. Only time I’ve done better is geoff’s freecon sf4 tournament and I think I went 1-2

Thank you guys for all the congrats and support. You all are the main people I play with, and we can all revel in our victories together. IMO, we’ve been this good for awhile, and just never had the chance to showcase our talent. This year was just our time, and will definitely not be the last. Congrats to James for top 5 in MB, and to Logan/Ron/Crespo for beasting in MvC3. If any of you guys find more vids of us playing let me know, I’d like to see them all.

Yeah, I really wasn’t feeling the whole ordeal: God, I wish the shit could have run faster and omg, on time. I was falling asleep on floor waiting for my next matches. I know I over booked myself with mods, school work and dismal amounts of practice and sleep. I’m also like Ron where if I haven’t slept well, I perform well under what I could. Both players I lost two were incredibly solid, but I literally knew their game plan front to back, knew what they were looking for, and gave it to them.
I definitely would like to continue to go to play folks and get stick commissions, but I don’t know if I would want to compete in FR again with their… lack of time management skills.
Eh, they did the best they could, really. I think this was the biggest FR yet, both in number of entrants and tournaments being run. Don’t let your performance in this get you down; it was your first FG major, just use it as a benchmark to get better at the next one.
I know what Ron is on about needing some noise to sleep. I usually use simplynoise.com with brown volume set to 30%, then adjust my PC speakers accordingly. Works really well.
