Well, turns out he was wrong, I guess? I also wasn’t making the argument that she is the best character in the game, just saying I think she does unfortunate things to the way the game ends up playing. Even when I beat Pheonix, either by snapping her in or just catching her with something once she transforms, it just makes the game feel so stupid.
Yeah but if you make that argument about her, you gotta do the same for X-factor. Its game changing.

I’m not a huge fan of X-Factor, but at least all characters have it, even if they do get different benefits from it.
She does seem like one of the best, but I’m not really one to make that judgment.

I went
3-2 Marvel 2 guys i lost to were in the finals for my pool. I know why i lost but i dont feel as bad.
I was like one out of 2 capn americas there i liked playing a non-mainstream character. Got alot of compliments in because of it. Felt good.

5-2 in super. Which i am happy with considering i didnt get much more comp outside of chris for this game. Crispy footsies baby, and spot on execution under pressure.

i didnt say she wasnt good i said it would take too much to make her worth it. And at this point it does almost every phoenix team needs a sponge that can soak up damage and deal decent damage without super. Also have to be careful not to eat an early snap back. Cause at this point most team with phoenix are build entirely around her, and if she is gone before she can get angry its usually gg’s.
Right now she is a top tier gimmick until some proves otherwise. It will take a lot of skill almost too much skill to make that work on a tournament lvl since not only is there no room for error with her you can mess up before you can get five bars with the other characters as well very high risk for an high reward. Make it work andy cause i would like to see it. I told adon to experiment with it as well for the very least to get everyone use to fighting against it. And to be honest andy i didnt think you would take mvc3 in general seriously at all. But so far im wrong.
And dark phoenix is the best character in the game phoenix is just her retarded ass taxi.

Current plans: highly considering dropping Balrog for Chun. Still mulling it over, but the idea seems quite promising, and for whatever reason, I simply can’t replicate the same results as other players have with him. Whether its my reluctance to spam jabs, back dashes, or throws… I don’t know anymore.

Yeah, I know what you mean, bud. I cracked after my first lost early on to JTO. Typically, after I lose once, I don’t win anymore, although CEO Barfights was the exception to the rule.
I’m usually the opposite lol. Always screw up and get sent to losers, then win a couple matches until I face a Blanka/Balrog.
Pretty dismal performance in the tournaments overall, but every casual match I played was with a top player named either Justin Wong, Tokido, or RyRy. First time I’ve played Justin in any game at anything and dude got perfected by me. Should have just got up and left it at that.
For the forseeable future my goal is to fuck up anyone in town in Marvel. Get at me.

To chris you do very well with rog. And to be honest no one really does great with him in tourneys anyway, in fact PR rog is the first to win a major with him go figure. Your kinda like me and is just way too hard on yourself. I think everyone except for logan pretty much went 1-2 in there first FR.
Serious note logan, ron and crespo are damn near godlike so far at mvc3 and Im really looking at you three to help me lvl up once im able to play consistently again. Matt i know your good too but dont know how much havent seen u play in a while.

I went 2-2 placed 97th in vanilla @ my first major FR XII
I can hang with everyone in town in Marvel. Everyone here is good though. Logan, Crespo, Ron all really good players. James is good too but it will take way more time to get his team on point. Has a very unique(but good) synergy. Logan has some shit i didnt see out of ANY of the Magnetos that where there.
If its any indication i placed in the same ranking at James and Crespo to tie for 33rd/337players. Not satisfied though wanted top 16(top2 in each pool). Ill just keep moving up.
Oh and Jay for Super i played my Rufus, Ryu, Balrog and went 5-2. 65th/317. Next year lookin for at least top 20+.
