Yea thats a good way to think about it chris. Marvel is Marvel just choose the people that have good synergy and the characters that give you the MOST options that accentuates how you want to play marvel.
For me my main team(Sent/DrStr/Doom) lets me play Sent how ive always wanted to play him. Constant pressure with a lil bit 'o rushdown(which is my quintessential playstyle) and almost be completely safe while doing so. As far as the alternate ‘broke team’ im just curious as how good the team is, been playing capn am teams for so long that it would be nice to see what a top tier team is capable of and how much of the thinking mans game is simply negated because of how good it is. Would love to be proven wrong but somehow im thinking that i probably wont be.

I hate to say it, but people aren’t play SF here like that, and even then, the traits that you really need to practice (ingenuity, reaction, and temperance) are far better exercised playing Marvel 3. Playing other games, if anything, makes you a better player (as long as you play said games with some consistent frequency).
I agree with Chris - I feel like I’ve leveled up (albeit only a smidgeon) at SF4 because I started playing Marvel, SF4, SFxT, KoF, and SG all at the same time. Some FG aspects are universal; I would argue that when it comes to Marvel and AE, you have a pretty good knowledge base on your characters, so you already have what you need that’s game-specific (besides more experience/knowledge of other characters and matchups, which takes years to perfect). Cutting one game out isn’t going to help the other, it’s just going to hurt the one you cut.
Drew on the real, you been getting some stuff down in marvel man. You are def stepping it up. It’s the tightest game, don’t stop playing the tight game so you can play the lame game more!
From what Drew tells me is that he doesn’t really care about Marvel enough to get better at it… so hurting the one he cuts out (Marvel) is kind of the point!

You don’t “get” it because you don’t “play” it. Every other week you transition from “I’m going to take this game seriously” to “I can’t take this game seriously” while everyone else has been and kept playing from the start. That is not helpful.
Yeah you’re not going to magically “get” the game within a week, especially if you give up during that week and then “give it another shot” a month later. Just keep playing man, you can win with zero doom Vergil.
I mean, if you don’t like the game or are not having fun, by all means that’s your choice. But it seems like you want to be good, but aren’t willing to grind out through the losses and get there.
I would really like to play with more people than just mike j In marvel but as of now he’s the only one who seems willing to let losses drive him to get better, instead of losses driving him to quit. And now you can see he has made it to where he wins all the time now. That doesn’t come within a week, even of you pick an “easy” or godly team.

Allow me to single out myself for a moment. I have played a lot of Marvel 2. Definitely not anything close to the amount played by Logan and Andy, but it’s probably up there in the top 5 or so games based on hours played - I’d say GG, Marvel 3, SF4, 3s, and MvC2 (discounting SSBM 'cause eff that). I also have watched a lot of Marvel 2 and know a pretty great deal about the game as long as it’s nothing below the high tiers.

In that short 2.5 minute match I could point out like 8 things I did that were flat out bad. Not because I don’t know what to do or because I don’t “get” the game, but because I just didn’t put in the time and always had a pretty bad mindset. I spent the bulk of my time playing people that completely outclass me and I never really tried to expand upon my very basic gameplan and skillset. I would be put in the same situations on both offense and defense over and over and over and I’d never try anything new, just the same things and if it didn’t work write it off as “Well it’s Marvel what can you do?” - it is not and never was a good way to play, and I never improved past a mediocre level because of it.
(By the way my Marvel 2 mix is the tightest)
