is anyone interested in some x factor cancel options? no? ok
Related to…?
probably should be in the ryu combo thread but like ryu x factor stuff
you get some high damage by xfc out of shoryuken and stuff like that
I know that if you XFC a M or H Shoryuken when it hits and while you’re grounded, you can jump up after them and do a follow-up combo. You might be able to get them back to the ground too to do a magic series, but I don’t remember; it’s been a while since I’ve tested it.
RayRay has also used the Hadoken -> XFC to some success on stream, and I definitely think it’s a valuable tool to use.
with M or H you can follow with a super jump and air series
with L shoryuken, you can do a jump loop (j.m j.h j.s) and go from there
A recent set I’ve recorded with a friend

Nice stuff! I finished watching the set with Madruga, and I’ve got three observations:
-
That air pressure at the 5:50 mark was spot on. Nice to see people going for the c.L reset as well, situational though it is.
-
Good use of Chun Li’s assist to cover your Shoryukens. I know your Chun is strongest with that Hadoken covering her, but are there any matchups where you’ve thought about starting Ryu first?
-
You go for a few XF1 combos, which is nice. Why do you think it’s best to X-Factor after the tatsumaki? I normally do it after a crouching ground series, so I can get in another series, use the tatsumaki to get a third series and then launch.
1 - Yeah, it’s situational, but Chun-li’s assist forces the fuzzy guard state, so I can go for it.
2 - Chun-Li’s assist protects Ryu, so he can do any Shoryuken. The only matchups that force me to start with Ryu is Tron because I still haven’t worked on a Chun-Li combo that actually works on her. I also prefer to start with Ryu if I’m facing a Trish.
3 - I never noticed it, but if I XF with Ryu it’s either to save him or to finish off the match.

nice little combo i came up with, with my own team.
That second jump loop was hard to time. It would just randomly work but then i found out if you do the first jump series fast and jump before X23, the second jump loop would be easier to land. Anyways, one jump loop is enough to kill Thor and i had originally recorded it that way and then figured out i can squeeze another.
Just me practicing with my team over the weekend. Let me know what y’all think. Enjoy!

Why is Ryu in MvC3 but Ken is not in it even though he was in MvC2!
Because Ryu > Ken.
It’s actually because their styles are too similar for an MvC game, but MascotRay’s reasoning works too.

Akuma has more differences compared to Ryu than Ken, don’t be obtuse.
Right, I said I’d upload vids of my Ryu when they came, and I’m gonna do it. Not my best, but training time is scarce during the final-year project crunch. Do mention some tips if you have any. Enjoy!
I was wondering if any of you guys have a PS Vita with a UMvC3 copy and a good recording camera…<div>The reason why I’m asking this is because I want to create a Ryu tutorial, and I want it to have every detail I know about him, that would include hitboxes and frame data.</div><div><br></div><div>So, anyone?</div>
