Take this test of reaction to blocking

Imo, it’s kind of like parrying in 3rd strike really.

Post your averages. Curious to see some top level players score versus just the average joe.

Please don’t abuse to make yourself look better or anything, this isn’t a e-penis measuring contest.

about 25-26 avg. fastest is 21-22 if I’m really focusing. slowest can be over 30 sometimes.
I keep faulting on that backhop low hair attack.

28.6 frames average.

This is why I suck in rushdown heavy games.

On a related note, anyone come across a situation where Millia does absolutely nothing? Happened to me once and I ended up just refreshing the test.

I keep faulting on the hair car as well. I got an average of about 26 on the one I passed. Reactions are much faster when I just guess and react to the first sign of motion, but isn’t the point of Millia’s mixup that you can’t react to it unless you guess?

I am not familiar with Guilty Gear and those bad animations!

after I got the hang of the test: fastest was 30.9 with 1 fail, worst 41.5 with 3 fails

Blocked Overhead about most of the time 22 frame average, but faulted a couple times. In the actual game it is a bit easier because you can Fuzzy. Also in long periods of standing there the guess is low or I’m going to jump the hell out of there. I don’t have dem reactions I need my OS’s.

I think that giving this measurement importance contributes more to why you suck, if anything. You are not supposed to block 6K on reaction. But on the other hand most standing dust moves are too slow to be spammed as 50-50 mixups. It also depends on animation compared to other move animations etc.

You’re putting too much stock in that quote (I mean, I do tend to do bad in these games, but that’s mostly because I don’t play them enough anyway).

The “nothing happens” happens to me when I get “hit” by the mix up but don’t press a key. The game still waits for me to actually press an input so it can count the frames it took for me to “react” to the action. So technically, I can have a 999999999999 frame reaction time or something.

It took several tries to not get a failure, but I ended up averaging 23.2 on my first non-fail; that was, however, skewed by a 30-frame reaction after a long period of repeated hair cars ;_;

I have no idea how good or bad 23.2 is, and I feel like I only succeeded in memorizing the startup frames of one character in a game I don’t play.

Ok my average was 27.3

I don’t know how good or bad that is but my main games right now are GG and BB and i swear my defense is GDLK.

Pretty useless test. Good defense comes from knowing how certain types of people and certain characters attack and I don’t feel like it’s like 3S parrying at all since in 3S you’re guessing on parries all the time except for some really slow moves.
You can’t guess for shit on this one cuz it’s rng.

That’s intentional because you aren’t supposed to guess because it’s a reaction test.

this is probably a lot more useful if it uses animations from games you play.
