What about Rachel’s 5B? 8 frame EXE. Wouldn’t that beat 360A even with the small frame advantage a blocked B sledge provides? I’m just curious, because it’s what I’ll typically retaliate with since 5B easily links into other combos and it comes out so fast. It hasn’t screwed me over yet… but if I need to be wary, I’d rather know now than get to comfortable and find myself surprised. :sweat:

Pretty much, depends on how good you are. I haven’t been online much at all but if you know how to use Tager and have seen enough of the rest of the cast to know what to expect, you will always have a fair shot. It is all about capitalizing on the mistakes they make in the match (spamming, getting too close, etc.).

Im getting raped by decent jin’s who like to apply a lot of pressure.

His ice-car has tons of recovery and will allow you to do just about anything of your choice after you block it (safest most effective option is an untechable 360+A spd).

For everything else, A.

any hints on how to get 360s off? i can never get them off. Not execution wise, but in game instances.

unless tager is like -5, 360a will beat any 8 frame move. you pretty much cannot hit a button vs 360a that doesnt outright have a property that beats it clean, 90% of the time.

vs jin you need to use 2C, or air throw, depending on what kind of air pressure he is mounting on you. if hes doing stuff like 5D dash cancel, hes at frame disadvantage during it, so 360A or 720 will almost guarantee beating anything he does that isnt a jump attack, so hes very likely to take to the air, this is a good time to attempt a 2C or air throw or even just backdashing his air attack.

if you just need a move that beats everything, 236236B is your best bet, probably.

So just to clarify, in order to do this safely, you would perform 360+A, hold A through the poke, then release to grab?

By the way, everybody here learn to buffer a 720 off 5A. So broken.

This Tager seems to be opting for Normal throws over 360 ones most of the time. It seems like he used Normal throws in neutral situations (green !).

Wouldnt the 360+B throw be better in those situations given that you cant tech them in a neutral state and it could lead to more damage? Do the additional 1 2 frames of the 360+B really make that much of a difference?

Normal throw:

6 frames neutral throw (B+C or 6 B+C) 7 frames back throw (4 B+C)
210000 range

360 + B:

8 frames
210000 range

also, how do i avoid when he used the cloud that attaches to him, then transports to the other side?

You don’t need to hold, 360A is simply invincible from frame 4 until activation.

its also more practical to buffer in off 2a, because it has less range : ) theres only a small amount of range where 5A whiffs and 720 hits.

have you tried the sledge against the cloud? i think the cloud is a projectile.

I know how to deal with the cloud, i didn’t mention the cloud.

I fought a Jin who does Ice car–>Jumping C, but I tend to mis time my 360+A =/
Also that Mike Z combo in Round 1= HORI SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
I can buffer 720 from a close St. B (I play with a PS3 Pad BTW), but St. A, no way.

What should be my follow-up combo after his Sledge Hammer hits?
EDIT: Oh and how can I utilize the magnetic properties/delays of his special moves?

On a regular sledge I think the only follow-up is the follow-up sledge attack

But on counter hit B sledge, you can do another B sledge, 2B 2C atomic collider 6 6C 5D on most characters.

And for magnetism, 5D and J .D get much better range, you cant suck people in with his 360s, 6A, 720, and magna-tech wheel.
