ive been messing with some combos and for some reason i cant get collider to connect on combo 3 of the special edition…in fact some times i miss colider in training mode too…is their something im supposed to do that im not seeing here is the video
Ive seen a Japanese player combo into it with collider->bolt->AH
how the hell do you do that?
Yeah this one’s a tricky one, but its definitely one to master because it is the most damaging one off of a throw. So the trick is to time the C as the guy ALMOST hits the ground. That’s the tough part as the timing for it is different for each character. Once you can time that correctly, the rest of the combo will fall into place, just make sure you don’t HOLD atomic collider but let go as soon as you do the move. He will grab the tip of the person’s feet if done correctly, so don’t worry bout missing.
Begin buffering the Astral Heat input as soon as you perform the Tager Shot, but before it connects or else you’ll get a Rapid Cancel. You have to be quick. Once the Astral activates, stop mashing D when your opponent is in range.
[A+B+C] -> 41236 D -> D D D D?
that’s actually really clever, I’m going to try that
That’s not what I was trying to describe in my post, but hell, that actually might work! You can take the credit for it :razz:. You just wouldn’t be able to hit confirm your Spark Bolt with anything using that method, because you’d RC the move you’re confirming with. I just meant that as soon as the Spark Bolt leaves your body, you immediately press A+B+C and mash D.
that does work, but you cant combo into it.
you can combo 5D into shot depending on character, so yeah, you can technically combo into it.
I don’t know if its been posted, but another great combo is
CH D->B sledge->5C->6A->collider->6C->5D
In my experience, this is a very helpful strategy against Nu; any time you connect with an Atomic Collider combo, always end it with B-Sledge and nothing more. None of that 6C, 5D bullshit, because magnetizing Nu is useless if she’s across the screen. By finishing the combo with B-Sledge, you force Nu into a very dangerous guessing game where one mistake will cost her dearly. If she tech rolls behind you, any 360 you want for free. If she neutral techs, 5D, or A-Sledge and buffer 720. If she techs away, 2D then continue pressure. You just want to stay up her ass at all times, because you may never get a chance like that again.
Ok, so after reading this I decided to play around a bit. After doing a bit of this and that I found out a stupidly easy way to get this to work.
Ok, any way you wish to get to this, but to test basically I went from 2C ->AC->SB->D D D… (when they’re mid height, no higher), and it’s fucking silly at how easy it is, you can do this anywhere because the spark bolt bounces them mid height so they won’t sail over you.
So ideally any way you can get to AC is good (which, let’s face it, is almost off anything).
Basically what you do is do the AC motion, and right after he grabs them but BEFORE he slams them to the ground, hold A+B+C, any time afterwards and you’ll cancel; anytime before and you’ll just leave the collider open and it’ll miss.
**You can also do this after a 360B, if they can be hit by the 2B->SB it’ll work, however this one you can only do if you’re very far from the wall they bounce from (2/3 screen or more, i tested at full screen). When you 2B it hits them up a tad higher than you’d like, so if you’re mid screen they’ll come flying back over your head.
**
Another stipulation is that you’re only able to do it from the 360B if you have a pad, or a macro set to A+B+C (sorry if that irks you, but I use a pad so I need that macro). Basically you hold A+B+C while you’re doing your buster, then finish the combo and, as above, mash D and they’ll sail right into your gauntlets.
If you’re destroying somebody, this could be a fun way to end it, but really you could think of many ways of just finishing off the 20% after an AC, so this is FAR from practical.
Edit:
bolded stuff not entirely true, I just played a bit more and found out something extra silly. After you 360B->2B->SB, you have time to BACKDASH, which makes them fly straight into your body…as an added bonus they can tech all they like, but I’ve tried all the types of techs and because of the forward momentum they CANNOT tech backwards far enough to remove them from the danger.
Now, here’s another fun fact, you can use the 360B->2b->SB->backdash to create yet ANOTHER 720 set up… yes folks that’s right, because of the tech properties they get put right in front of you, so buffer that backdash into a 720 and you’ll catch them again.
double edit:
The above traps only work if they tech, otherwise they’ll fall to the ground harmlessly. However I really doubt someone’s going to be flying at you and not JAMMING so that they tech to get away as fast as possible.
For some reason, the above made me laugh out loud… just the image of like… Jin flying through the air, flailing their arms helplessly, with Tager just standing there like “Gonna pwn you.”
Also, if you ever get a 720 off on Arakune, the way that he slams Kune makes me laugh… he looks like he’s slamming a handful of yogurt into the ground at like mach 3 or some such nonsense… would love to see someone draw it in lulz style…
Does anyone know what would be tagers worst match up other then Carl and what would be his best match up
arakune 2.5
Nu 3.0
Hakumen 5.5
love that his best matchup is a 5.5. It makes stomping people into the ground so much more satisfying.
tbh i think arakune is 2-8 and nu is borderline 2-8 as well.
also a lot of top us hakumens think the matchup is even borderline hakumens favor…
since no one really goes to the video section here
Shot -> air throw (teched) -> 720.
I think I just found my next gimmick! :party:
Just a few quick questions I wanna ask before I hit the sack.
1.) I’ve gone through a couple of the characters, but I’m feeling really comfortable with Jin and Tager. My question is: Is Tager a wise choice for me to use? I’m still learning the game, so I was wanting to get some opinions, and maybe even some XBL battles to help evaluate me and see what I need to learn.
2.) Is Tager REALLY bottom tier? Wanted to find out what other people think about this, since I got into a debate about it on XBL. One guy was saying Tager is bottom, the other was saying he’s Top. I’d definitely say he’s low tier, but it doesn’t mean you can’t win with him, IMHO. Thoughts on this?
3.) What are some of Tager’s BnB combos that I should learn?
Thanks for your time.
- Tager is one of the easiest characters to learn combos with, and playing with him helped my execution to where i could play with other characters.
2.No, the internet just pulled a prank on you.
yah, he is, since most of the character’s either zone you or rush you down, and since you are very slow in moving that makes the zoning effective, and since all your moves are slow that makes the rushdown effective.
But still he is a fun character to play and that’s all that really counts
