I knew about the combo on Q (which also works on Chun and some other characters), I just wanted a wider hitbox to practice TTH on.
Here’s a tip for those of you who are learning how to do TTH or even to those who want to use this as a security blanket:
This is an OS technique. What you basically do is when you’re going to input the second tackle, instead of pressing only :lk: or :mk: to execute the tackle, you should also press :mp: at the same time. If you have enough charge time, then the tackle comes out normally. If you don’t have enough charge time, then the :f::mp: will come out instead. The point of this is to make the best of your fuck up, so you do that by doing a little bit of damage and resetting your opponent that you wouldn’t have gotten if you were to completely miss the tackle. This will obviously set you up for :lp: sphere xx Aegis to start your mix-ups, if you have meter, of course.
For those who are trying to learn how to do TTH this way, I also have a tip about your progress on learning the combo. When you see his :f::mp: hit, try to “finish the combo” with a headbutt anyway after you recover from the :f::mp:. If the headbutt comes out anyway, then you know you partitioned the headbutt correctly and all you messed up on was the charge time, that’s it.
Unfortunately, this isn’t 100% fullproof. If you had enough charge time and you miss your second tackle, you just simply fucked up your timing. Another downside to this is that if your execution is a little sloppy, you may be susceptible to getting :mp: sphere by accident if you roll your stick in a circular motion, so clean up your inputs a little bit if you plan on using this technique. Also, with that said, this makes super canceling the second tackle into Aegis harder than it should be. This technique is good to have in mind if your intentions are to strictly learn TTH, IMO. It’s also not a bad choice to do if you’re planning on only doing TTH.
BTW, I think even RX uses :lk: tackle for the second tackle in TTH against shotos or characters with a similar hitbox. I’ve seen him whiff a :lk: after the first tackle before, so this is all just an observation and assumption I’ve made…
Anyway, let me know if this helped any of you guys. This is one of those devious combos that can be a pain to learn and consistently do.
That sounds extremely convoluted but whatever helps.
Why would RX use short tackle…? 0 reason. It hits BARELY easier than forward tackle. So marginally so that it’s not worth bothering with. Against a shoto it makes absolutely no sense. Maybe against like Alex or something who drops really quickly.
Short tackle is easier… whatever improves consistency, whether its RX or anyone else…
idk about stun but the damage difference in using mk tackle vs lk as the second tackle is 1 point…
It seriously doesn’t matter which one is used…
Also the OS does help… for folks like me that fuck up at least 30% of the time…
If you get this like 85-90% or better(assuming folks like Tebbo) then don’t bother…
TTH is fucking difficult on the twins… like seriously fuck this shit…
theres not really a need for a os imo. you can tell if youre gonna get the 2nd tackle just by the way the first one hits and adjust accordingly.
vs twins, id only try for tth if you want to be sick.
I believe it does more damage and stun.
I don’t see a strong reason for or against really. Just practice the fuck out of it. All it takes is willpower. Everyone on here can do it consistently it just takes time and patience. That’s basically my attitude about 3s as a whole. time and patience. you WILL improve if you play good players, think about how you’re playing, take criticism well and ask questions.
just keep playing and practicing.
basically i dont think babying yourself will help you. if you have trouble with it, ok, maybe he’s not for you at the moment. 3s is not a game you just pick up and play. if you cant use him well now that means nothing. in a years time you may come back to him and laugh at how much trouble you had doing tth.
Hey Ramza,
Would you mind uploading your video again please?
