Let’s see, XI should defenitely be the KOF game used, it has been out for import for quite sometime and IMO, the best King of Fighters out.
With regards to the second point, I defenitely agree with you, with Slash being the main. I’d hate to leave out the people who play/pratice Slash and simply cannot get the oppurtunity to play/practice Accent Core, to have to play it at T8.

kofxi should really be the main for KOF
we can always make a tournment before T8 to see the result
wts wrong for having a tournement with new games? why do we have to move so slow becuz the arcade aren’t keeping up to date? if we have to play old games every T tournament we will always fall behind
kofxi was out since 05, but we have to make other version as main just becuz our local arcade aren’t doing shit for us?
Please note, if people are serious about having KOF XI at T8, the game must still meet the 16 player requirement. I personally don’t feel this game will get anywhere close to that mark. I’d really like people who are definitely entering to post up so we can project some numbers for it.
It was already agreed between Stephen and I that Slash will be the main GG game at T8. The fact of the matter is that not everyone will have ready access to AC, regardless of the six weeks between release and T8. Slash is the game most have practiced on and thus will be the main game. Accent Core will still be a side game and there’s nothing stopping every GG/ player from entering that too.
For real, oh man, there are people much worse than me. They hide in shadows somewhere.
…and if by the off chance XI doesn’t make the 16 player requirement, I’d be glad to include it as side tournament I’d run at T8. (I was already planning to, anyway.)
-Really hard decision here. I myself would like it to be AC, however, many people wont have access to it. Even if i were to assume everybody gets it on release date (may 31st), 1 and a half month to learn AC may or may not be enough depending on how hardcore the person practices. And I would guess that once a person gets a hold of AC, its unlikely they’ll want to spend serious time on slash again, after all, why play an old outdated game?
-For myself, if AC was available, i would be unwilling to spend time to learn my update my main character for AC, then play slash with it, so i may just end up just training my main character for AC, then pick someone that i have a decent knowledge about for slash. Im not sure about others on this one tho. but if people do think like this, then the tournament would be pointless if we dont use our best character. Theres a big difference between AC and slash for all characters so its quite hard to switch between games and play at our best consistently.
-Making AC the main tournament is the more “professional” thing since its the most updated game. Making slash is more “considerate” since more people has access.
-I think its still to early to say for sure whether AC or / should be made the main event for ggxx. Console release dates can change (for better or worse), more arcades may start importing AC, allowing more players to have access to it before T8 and practice. Posting slash/AC main now may attract or discourage players from coming, depending on which one they like.
Hell why do i always end up making huge posts, whatever, they’re all things that i THINK should be considered?
Conclusion:
I’d like AC to be main and slash to be side but if majority of players prefer slash, then slash should be main. Whatever’s better for the majority.
