Smokey; ORBIT management hasn’t got back to us on whether we can have a table + TV on the premesis so it wouldn’t be a good idea to start the ball rolling on a 5 on 5 if we don’t have the facilities for it.

I Can’t believe we got chester to make an account just for this. You guys probably don’t realize how big the scene is for SSBM around here, but its HUGE. If you can get it going, I can’t wait.

SSBM would be nice, but there’s probably not enough space for it. If 30 - 40 extra people come, the only way they’d fit is if all the jitz tables were moved out and the consoles were set up there. Those tables make alot of money for Orbit, unless the SSBM community can come up with a way to compensate Orbit for that loss of business, I doubt they would consider it.

Its not like we are asking for 5 to 6 televisions to run it. 1 or 2 is fine and you will only need it for a couple of hours. This way Canada can get together a Smash team vs. Empire’s “Deadly Alliance”. So in that way you make money from that console tournament and then go back with the tables that make you money.

T7 UPDATES
Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha 3 will be installed in ORBIT on Saturday.
I’m going to have a meeting with ORBIT management concerning the SSBM situation. I’ll be realistic here. I’m looking for a table and outlets for two televisions, two gamecubes and 5 chairs.
TFGM; I’ll have a flat price for you from ORBIT management on Sunday. Right now, I’m going into the meeting with a premise of getting the space for free.

Like Justin said before, please do not decide everything by yourselves and not discuss this with justin or myself.
Any additional 5v5s will not count in the Empire vs Canada battle. Time is not on our side to hold so much official tournaments. Any more tournaments wanted by the players will take place on sunday, which is the only really open day.
There won’t be a ST 5v5. The game does not get much play over here other than the few hardcore fans.
SSBM has already been dealt with by justin. He’ll come up with the results on the weekend.
Slash 5v5 Can vs US is not official just yet. There are still a few things we must go over with orbit management.
Gameboys (DS,etc…) will most likely not fly either. Most arcades here have rules against people playing games in their arcade that does not belong to the arcade and Orbit is one of them. Another reason why this rule is in effect is because theft also comes into play and we already have our own set of problems to deal with.
This is not to argue your point, it is simply to state where I was coming from. I didn’t mean to set any extra tournaments, I was just trying to push the matter on Justin. lol. I hope at the very least he can get Smash Brothers running. As for the DS thing, Its not a problem. We can always have the tournament back at our hotel room if you guys are still up for the three DS games. If you guys (Orbit) allow the Nintendo DS at the arcade even better. I just want to leave a open option for the handheld games though.

I just didn’t want people to get all hyped up for a certain tournament, only to be shot down by management, strangled by time pressure or any other constraints.
Of all the tournies happening throughout the year Im looking foward to this the most!
