So ya, what the fuck is going on with the Marvel Qualifier??
The thread still says that Tao and tactics get an auto spot on the team. I talked to Tao and he says he hasnt played since T6. It also says that only GerJay and g3nn get to play for the final spot?? If thats how its going down thats some bullshit right there. I coulda sworn there was gonna be a qualifier on the thursday for the final 4 spots since Samnang isn’t coming anymore.

why dont u just tell people that “because ive already setted the start time of qualifier at 2 LONG AGO. and gerjay can not make it by 2, therefore, i have to stick to my words and also be fair to the rest of the qualifiers including myself and asked gerjay to withdraw” instead of pushing the blame to the “rest of the competitors”.

i didn’t think anyone would be unwilling to help Gerjay stay in the qualifier (including wing) I mean we’re all trying to get the best player to get onto Team Canada, and Gerjay is a very valid candidate. Hey justin. How about this?
we start the 5 on 5 without gerjay, and if gerjay makes it before more than say half the matches are played, he can join np? and if people need to leave before he gets there, gerjay forfeits the match?
while not the perfect solution, i think it’s better than just screwed gerjay and making him withdraw. Especially since it’s for a legit reason.
Or how about Arcade Legend plays 1st and goes 5-0 and picks up maximum points. Then the tournament is over already. All it will take is like 15 mins or so.
Hey I see your side of the arguement. But you really were the only one complaining about Gerjay’s situation. Maybe Curt didn’t have to set the rules in stone the way he did, but people are pretty notorious for showing up hours after start times so maybe he wasn’t out of line with putting such a restriction in place. It sucks that GerJay has to do a fucking MCAT test that day but you were the only one who voiced a problem about it on srk.
It doesn’t really matter to me who wins the qualifier, I just think that Jason deserves a chance to play his matches.

but im just saying i SHOULD NOT be the one who gets the blame where it was nagata lock’s idea to moved the qualifier date to july 8th instead of june 24th.
and on june 24th, i told nagata im busy in late afternoon on july8th. so therefore, mark his words for the starting time he posted. nagata did a totally shitty job on that part. he didnt even ask the qualifier if its ok to reschedule the date for it, and he just went on doing it.
I don’t know much about what u guys planned for the MvC2 qualifiers,
but Samnang just might be able to make it, if he does, he doesnt need to do the qualifiers right??? He’s proven himself to most of you 2 years ago, and to some of you at M.A.T .
Anyway, if he can he will prolly participate in the qualifiers ,dont want to make you westerners whine for nothin’.

Maybe if I win I would offer Gerjay the oportunity to play me for the spot. He would have to put up maybe $20 vs My spot in a best of 5 or something. It would be up to him if he wants to take that tho.

I have no problems with him being late (unless he’s showing up at 8pm or something). I’d very much like him to join. We should just run the qualifier and if it’s the near end and he’s not here, he’s out. I know people are notorious for being late, and I agree the 2pm rule is good, but Gergay should be exempted from it. Being late WITH notice is much more acceptable than the typical “being an ass by showing up 2 hours after start time”
I’m also not very happy about July 8th as a tourney date but I’ll still go. Of all the weekends, why this one? I would have came on June 24th if it wasn’t rescheduled. I just noticed that nearly all of you showed up on June 24…all I have to say is that we should look forward instead of backward.
