Wasn’t asking if EX Spire > EX Tomahawk comboed, was just pointing out we won’t see that combo often, because it takes 3 Stock if you add EX Dive. In regards to Dive moves, some ARE overheads, Akuma/Gouken’s Demon Flip Dive Kicks are overheads, as are their normal d+MK Dive Kicks (same with Seth.)
So he can only combo them with ex ? Can he combo/link any besides jabs ?
Only EX spire knocks down (iirc), and you can only do EX Dive after EX tomahawk. So yes.
Link-wise, he apperently has:
s.LP -> s.MP
s.LP -> c.MP
s.MP -> s.MP (dunno if it’s close -> far or far -> far)
s.HP -> c.MK
s.LP -> s.LP -> c.LK
i have never seriously played t. hawk in any SF, i have always mained Vega and secondary played as a grappler, which was almost always geif. I’m new to this discussion and i apologise for not reading all discussion prior before posting, i just wanted to get some info because im looking for a new main that fits me.

Here is some T.Hawk play from PAX East. I think he is looking pretty good from what I saw. Didn’t see anyone pick U2 so I’m not sure if that is as unreliable as I’ve heard. I’ve been trying to make out what the people in the background are saying about it, but I’m having trouble making it out.

It’s as I said, though: all of those diving moves that are overheads can’t be done low to the ground or tiger knee’d at all.
This isn’t Marvel. We’re not going to see instant, triangle-jump overheads that you have one-fourth of a second to react to from anyone in this game. (I would hope.)

Thanks for the links, especially since the fight against Cody in the second video shows both Condor Spire going over what I believe to be Cody’s c. RH on what looked like Condor Spire’s start-up (excellent) and showed that you can indeed triangle jump Condor Dive (which is NOT an overhead, thank Death).
However, you’ll want to fix your first link. “#Time” is just supposed to be “#t”. Otherwise it just starts at the beginning (apparently). I fixed when I quoted you if you’re wondering why my link goes straight to the spot.
Are you talking about changes in SSF4 or currently? Akuma’s demon flip dive kick can be blocked high or low, gouken’s cannot. Akuma’s d+mk is overhead however.

I want to main a grappler but not sure who to choose between hakan or T.Hawk.
T Hawk and Adon are going to be the two new characters I try first. If I don’t like how they play, then I’ll move on to try a few others.
I like the thought of careful poking and not having big combos, though I hope he won’t be too reliant on any crazy links. I’ve barely played T Hawk in any previous iterations.
We still have much to learn about when we get the game (T-minus less than a month!)… that being said… Gief is getting hit extremely hard with the nerf bat and Hakan looks too gimicky to me. Therefore, I’d like to think T Hawk is going to be the best grabbler in the game.
This would be a good thing and a bad thing, imo. Good because using a solid character is simply a good thing. My friend has one solid Vega… but hearing him say he using “the worst character in the game” everytime I beat him… gets rather annoying.
Bad because I could see a lot of people jumping the train… I enjoy the fact no one like T Hawk. Seriously, no one likes T Hawk. (He has 7 subscribers on his Youtube channel.) Makes you feel slightly unique I suppose.

I agree. While it would be nice to see T.Hawk get the respect he deserves by having more folks use him, I do agree in that using the one character that nobody likes indeed makes you feel unique. That’s kinda how I am with Rufus. While a lot of folks use him now, I think at first everybody kinda treated him like T.Hawk.

Even if we are a very few players that we like T.Hawk (usually the players that plays with Hawk are the players who plays T.Hawk from SSFII which they know a lot of things about his gameplay…i’m consider to be one of them) its not a bad thing.
I like to be unique and don’t see always the same characters like Ryu or Ken to abuse them all the time.
It’s boring and sometimes becomes really frustrating.
I waited a long time to see T.Hawk (FINALLY) in a 3D game but to play him with 2D style.
So i’m very happy with that and i don’t give a s**** about he’s tier rank.
In less than a month we are going to see the character and learn his new stuff.

Yeah I have been watching a bunch of the vids coming out and T.Hawk is looking very strong in my opinion(though my opinion is that of a scrub :lol: ). Starting to get super hype!
