T.Hawk Laboratory

It only hits people in the air. So you can throw it out when jumping in if your opponent often blocks your jump-ins, then just grab them as you land. You can also OS grab if you think someone will jump I guess.

Said in other words from Dooplis’s post:

One important use is to fake out people. It makes the other person’s block animation start if they are holding back, so you can try to do a cross up and use d+MP which makes them block but doesn’t hit, then 360 grab when you land etc.

It does work decently air-to-air but sort of requires a little psychic prediction to do it first.

Heavy Shoulder is every Vega’s (Claw) doom. Use it. It’s just THAT good. Shuts him down completely in the air. For an easy way to time it, use jump back shoulder. Works 99% of the time, 1% of the time nothing happens.

It’s a good air-to-air that’s for sure but it will lose if vega is at the same height or higher than you…which is something that will happen often if he is jumping off the wall. Also, vega can straight up airthrow you out of it. It’s not an end all be all to being in the air but it sure is gosh darn good. Maybe not Deejay 5 frame 120 damage jump fierce punch good, but i’m happy Hawk has it.

His jump heavies does a lot of damage, but I think some of his stun values are lower than average.

Ive been trying to give more looks after a splash so something I’ve started doing that I haven’t seen is

Lp spd setup
Splash, cl.fierce, f.strong

On hit does 312/430 and builds most of a bar.
On block after the fierce (-1) I do the strong if I think they will jump or go for tic spd if I think they wil block

Also replacing the strong with a forward is better for low pokes like ryu cr.mk but iono if its worth it because is does less damage and doesn’t catch jumping…

I’m starting to like linking off cl.fierce cus once you do it a few times, next time u hit u get a nice walking 720 opportunity

The fact that cl.fierce is only +5 on crouching oppenents is really dumb and unnecessary so watch for crouch blocking after a block splash (iono who does that anyway)

Ive been praising thrust peak since ssf4. I apply it in retarded amounts of ways! Sky is the limit with TP!

posted this a while ago i used jumping fierce to setup the fuzzy so im sure what i posted will probably be the same for jumping roundhouse fuzzy not sure about deep splash though

ex.spire hit, forward jump, crossup ex.dive on start of descend… catches people off guard way more than it should

might i add that reversal dps of course wiff and you land in a very favorible positioning aswell after hit. can be ducked and such. it works fantasticly against the mediocore players i play against (im one of them).
yesterday i was on the edge of losing against a zangief (which should never happen), tickthrow into lp360, bodysplash mp ex.spire, ex.dive, empty jump ultra 100%-dead zangief xD the mighty hawk \o/ \o/

My favorite way to use Thrust peak is to simply do SPD, Empty Jump, meaty TP, SPD. People think they get a free, full punish when they block TP, but if you use it like this it hits on the last (or maybe 2nd to last) active frame, meaning you’re only -1 or -2 on block.

did any of you lads know that the frame data for close heavy punch is wrong. it actually has a 7 frame start-up. thiusyou can combo close light punch to heavy close punch. i havent found a grerat use for it yet but working on it

Nope, it does not. Tried plinking MP to HP, HP came out, still didn’t combo. You sure you don’t have counterhit on?

well weve been having this debate with my local scene aswell.this much weve covered. its defo not on counter-hit, i play on the laptop so that may be affecting but would be crazy for that to allow for new combos.
it does 170 damage clean. it will not work if you try to do the combo through turbo. it is also very tight timing so dont be suprised if you dont get it quickly.

When I plink MP to MP+HP and HP comes out, that means it comes out on the first possible frame, and it still didn’t combo. What is your framerate set to; variable, fixed or smooth?

Btw, don’t know I’ve mentioned this before, but you can do LP SPD, instantly jump forward (Don’t remember if you should whiff a normal during the jump atm, but I think you should), and then do HP Tomahawk when you land to time its invincibility in such a way that you can beat some reversals. I don’t have a list over what you can beat with this right now, but it can definitely catch people off-guard.
