T.Hawk Laboratory

can’t you plink another fierce? I seem to remember a close FP into plinked far FP for a decent chunk.
I know the idea is to go for a knockdown, but I don’t remember anything else working, except against Hakan.

EDIT: nevermind of the FP to FP link, I think its CH only.
But you can lp into ex spire for a knockdown. You can Thrust Peak into EX Spire also if its easier for you.

What’s the difference between +1 , +3, +6, or something that sounds impossible like +12 ? Does anyone else in the game have something that’s +12?

I know basic frame data, but what could +6 have any use for us with if we can only link a LP DP on less than 25% of the cast?

you can do LP into Spire for pressure, although it isn’t a true blockstring.

What

Sorry Lvangundy, I meant to explain this.

Close Strong is +6 on hit.
Close Roundhouse is +6 on hit.

You can link close strong->DP
You can link close fierce->DP

0.o

This is telling me the link was always there however, was the spacing always?

I did not switch versions to confirm this but, this is telling me that this link was always possible.

I bet in AE it was CH only…will test later.

But the pushback is significantly less in 2012.

Does anyone have like +20? lol

WTF I didn’t know Spire beats Dictators U1 clean, lol. This situation never happened to me before.

Yup, in AE cl FP could combo into LP SRK only on CH. I tried EX SRK on Sagat and bison, didn’t work but LP did.

The Bison U1 spire thing only works if you’re not close. Good find!

f

cl fp to ex srk works on bison, did it here, the timing is 0 frames lol very hard

Okay so, I’d like to have a few thoughts about j.lp xx dive. Why is nobody using it? Is it really that bad? I NEVER saw this in a match and I am watching a lot of replays and tournament footage.

J. lp/mp aren’t bad normals. I see a lot of j. mp in ST, is this correct? What’s the difference between 2012 and ST regarding j. lp/mp?

It’s not bad, I use it myself too, but the problem with it is that it’s kinda gimmicky. For me, I only use it when I do a jump-in/crossover splash then J.LP -> EX Dive. For some reason there are alot of people who don’t know how to block it. Is this a Fuzzy Guard Mixup?

In ST, the J.LP is the one that’s being used alot. The difference between the J.LP in ST and 2012 is that the J.LP in ST had godlike active frames. It was active from the moment you used it til you enter landing frames. The large amount of active frames gives the J.LP such godlike priority in that it’s able to stuff like almost any move. It’s also excellent for tick-throws too. In 2012, the J.LP only has 6 actives frames. It’s not a very useful normal move TBH, lol.

I only use Jump Jab->Condor Dive on people who like to do shit during my descent on a jump in…

Okay, thanks you two. I will try to use it to surprise my opponents. I understand Hawk has better options and also the timing on it is kinda strict.

Your welcome.

i miss that

If hawk was like he was in he wouldbe top teir. He is the best character in the game in st the problem is he’s so hard to play.

Spire actually beats a lot of Ultras. Today I met a Cammy player who tried to punish my Spire movements with U1 **up close **(1 quarter). Spire beat it in it’s active frames.

It may be online and maybe I’m stating the obvious but for me personally it’s kinda strange Ultras like that can’t beat a Special. It’s good to know that you are quite safe by moving with Spire, though.

I hate Condor Spire… so much =/

…because it’s so slow?

It’s so poorly designed,

Slow startup, slow recovery, unsafe on block and HIT, vulnerable hurtbox, and not linkable in combos. Regular Spire is only useful to whiff and build meter, but other then that it just really sucks o_O

Some people might argue that it can be useful for tick-throw setups, but in all honesty it’s actually gimmicky to use. There’s just such a large window of time that you’re vulnerable when using it that people who are experienced in this matchup will know how to react to it and punish you.
